@kingslynnstars King's Lynn Speedway#Speedway Final Score After Heat 15 Stars 48 Aces 42 Rob Lyon’s men were second best in the early sparring against a determined Aces’ outfit but gradually wore down the Mancunians before completing a home league double. Lasse Bjerre and Mads Korneliussen sealed the win in the penultimate tour, but Chris Harris and Rory Schlein squared off the finale to grab a losing point in a repeat of the clubs’ March joust at the Norfolk Arena. “A win is a win,” said Lyon. “Disappointed not to get all three but to be fair I think Belle Vue came at us and deserved a point. We always come on strong at the end of the meeting and that proved the case again tonight. We managed to pull it out of the bag. I wasn’t concerned because it was all level with five or six heats left on our own track. “We just had to get our heads down. They were out-gating us and our reserves didn’t get going until two thirds of the way through. That was a big factor why the score was so close. But fans went home happy after we won and they saw some entertaining racing again.” Sam Masters trapped superbly to head Kenneth Bjerre and Harris in the opener but the British GP ace stalked Masters before pouncing into turn two to split the home duo. Stars’ old boy Kozza Smith fired across from gate four to dictate the reserves with Ricky Kling quick enough to repel Lynn’s below-par duo Filip Sitera and Lasse Bjerre. Smith emerged for a rider replacement outing but Stars’ skipper Olly Allen defied the Aussie to draw Lynn level. Schlein and the over-worked Smith hit back again with the visitors adapting to the early track conditions better than the hosts – Niels-Kristian Iversen recovering from a sluggish gate to minimise the damage. Korneliussen picked up the pace in heat five but again Harris eclipsed the home racer with an all out assault exiting turn three. Kenneth Bjerre turned in a masterclass in the next but Schlein hunted down the battling Masters. Schlein then cashed in on his bonus ride to anchor a second visiting maximum to move Belle Vue four clear – Lasse Bjerre and compatriot Iversen mere spectators. Masters opened his account in the next - Sitera deserving a special mention in despatches for a gutsy effort to try and overhaul Kling. Allen smoothly claimed heat nine to bring his side level on the cusp of the interval but Schlein showed plenty of nous to subdue Korneliussen. Kenneth Bjerre responded on the resumption but Masters was cut adrift and left casting worrying glances down at his machine as Belle Vue squared off the race. Iversen slipped into defensive mode to thwart Harris with Lasse Bjerre claiming a decisive heat advantage to nudge Lynn back in front for the first time since heat one. Allen and Charlie Gjedde indulged in a spot of synchronised speedway before the Aces’ man prevailed. Harris and Kenneth Bjerre then re-opposed in a heavyweight heat 13, but it was Iversen upstaging the grand prix duo after his team mate dawdled at the tapes. Lynn’s second string briefly deferred to Schlein but dived back up the inside to clinch a thriller. Lasse Bjerre saved his best until last to secure the hard-fought home victory with a perfectly-timed maximum in the penultimate contest - Bjerre junior and Korneliussen trapping in tandem to huge from the home faithful. Lynn needed any heat advantage in the finale for all three league points, but experienced Aces’ pair Harris and Schlein threw up a road block to frustrate Iversen behind Kenneth Bjerre. • Stars: K Bjerre 12, Masters 5, Allen 9+1, Korneliussen 6+1, Iversen 8, L Bjerre 5, Sitera 3+1 • Aces: Harris 9+2, Stachyra 0, Gjedde 8+1, Schlein 14, Kling 4+1, Smith 7+1 edp KINGS LYNN STARS = 481. In front of a large Norfolk Arena crowd the King's Lynn 'Roger Warnes Transport' Stars proved to strong for the Wolverhampton Wolves by the end of the meeting as the went on to win 50 - 43.
Both teams were giving maximum effort in every race which produced some of the closest racing seen at the Arena this year, the battle of the number one's Kenneth Bjerre and Freddie Lindgren started in the opening heat when Lindgren forced his way over Bjerre from the outside gate to lead into the first corner and take the first points of the night while Sam Masters was able to hold off Ty Proctor to level the opening race.
Middle order partnership of Olly Allen and Mads Korneliussen continued to get stronger and after Tai Woffinden crashed out of the first run of the heat the pair made good gates to score the home teams first maximum of the night and crucially a four point lead in the meeting.
Niels-Kristian Iversen and former Stars rider Peter Karlsson produced one of the heats of the night in the fourth race, Iversen had made the gate just ahead of Karlsson but they both exited the second bend wheel to wheel. The first three laps saw both riders passing each other but then Niels was able to pull out a lead on the last lap to take the win while Filip Sitera grabbed third place when Ricky Wells came to grief on the last bend of the final lap to give the Stars a heat advantage and extend their lead to six points.
Olly Allen came to trouble in the first bend of the fifth race and was forced to retire while at the front of the heat Wolves pair of Freddie Lindgren and Ty Proctor were to quick for Mads which resulted in the visitors scoring their first heat advantage of the night and closed the gap to just two points.
Before the interval there were good battles between both teams, in heat seven, Niels finally managed to get the better of Tai Woffinden after a close three laps and in heat eight, Sam Masters just missed out on a race win after he chased to Ty Proctor for the duration of the heat.
Great Britain team member Olly Allen came back from his fall in his second race to show why he should be in the final five to race in the World Cup when he beat Peter Karlsson comfortably in the ninth heat, Niels-Kristian Iversen held on for his third heat win of the night in the 11th after being run close by Freddie Lindgren.
The Stars surged ahead in heat 12 when Olly scored his third heat victory while improving reserve Filip Sitera snatched a second place when he found away past Ludvig Lindgren on the last lap to give King's Lynn a ten point lead before the crucial heat 13.
Wolves were far enough behind to put Freddie Lindgren out in heat 13 on double points and a determined ride by the Swede saw him barge Kenneth Bjerre aside on the third bend before snatching the heat win away from Iversen on the finish line, two final level heats ended the meeting with the Stars in front by seven points which means that the take all three league points and move seven points of Belle Vue in fourth place.

The King's Lynn 'Roger Warnes Transport' Stars continued on from their win over local rivals Peterborough with an eight point win over third place Eastbourne at the Norfolk Arena on Wednesday night. Danish duo of Niels-Kristian Iversen and Mads Korneliussen were in fine form as both riders hit double figures from their rides including a last heat advantage to seal all three league points were taken. Stars number one Kenneth Bjerre got his meeting off to a unusual start, a clutch defect at the start caused him to lift hard and fall off the back which resulted in him landing heavily on his head and back while his brother Lasse was fast from the gate and took an opening win ahead of Lukas Dryml and Bjarne Pedersen. King's Lynn strung together a run of heat advantages ti take a 12 point lead into the second third of heats, in the second race of the night, reserve partnership of Tomas Topinka and Filip Sitera were split by Eastbourne's Cameron Woodward which gave the Stars their first advanatage in the meeting. Middle order partnership of Olly Allen and Mads Korneliussen were once again on the 5-1 trail in the third heat, Allen had made the gate and led the race while Korneliussen came from fourth place to pass Woodward and then Bridger on the last lap to finish second. Niels-Kristian Iversen displayed a show of pure speed in his first race of the night and took victory ahead of Eagles rider Joonas Kylmakorpi by the space of a corner, reserve Tomas Topinka got the better of Timo Lahti to finish third. Allen and Korneliussen continued their unbeaten run in the fifth race to open the gap to 12 points between the sides but as the meeting reached the turn, Eastbourne were handed luck when Lasse Bjerre lifted while leading the eighth race allowing Woodward and Dryml to score maximum heat and their first advantage of the night. A third consecutive maximum heat from Allen and Korneliussen in heat 9 kept the Stars 12 points ahead which allowed Eastbourne to nominate Bjarne Pedersen for double points in heat 11, the Dane made the gate but Stars heat leader Iversen made a clever cut back to pass his fellow countryman down the back straight to take the win. Heats 12, 13 & 14 saw both teams exchange five ones with the Stars coming out still on top and holding a six point lead with one race left. In form duo if Iversen & Korneliussen rode inch perfectly in the final heat until the came a little to close on the fourth bend of the third lap which gave Bjarne Pedersen enough momentum to Pass Iversen on the line but the heat advantage was enough for the Stars to take all three league points.

Another day with speedway going on everywhere but Peterborough! Good news about Panthers in Timbuktu though This Wednesday evening at 7:30pm the Kings Lynn ‘Roger Warnes Transport’ Stars come up against the low flying Swindon Robins.[/u] But all that said and done the Robins should not be taken lightly, despite a home lose against the Stars the previous week the Robins number, British Champion Scott Nicholls, returns to their team and may give them the boost they have needed. Since their last visit they have also recruited Danish International, Nicolai Klindt, along with Russian International, Sergey Darkin, both of whom always ride the Norfolk Arena well. The Stars will be at full strength with Mads Kornelliusen coming through his fitness test after a terrifying crash at Swindon last Thursday, and Kenneth Bjerre recovering from his knock to the head after last week’s fall in heat number one. Team manager Rob Lyon has once again selected Lasse Bjerre to ride at number two and Tomas Topinka at number six. With only two league points separating the top 3 Elite League teams and the Stars currently slotted into second position this could be the night that the Stars finally go top of the Elite League table, but that will of course depend on the Poole Pirates who will be racing at home on the same night against Wolverhampton. No matter the outcome Stars fans seem guaranteed to see an exciting finale to their debut return year in the Sky Sports Elite League! Meeting Information: Gates open at 18:30, riders parade starts at 19:30 with first race at 19:45. That's his first and only good performance.
It's one thing facing the likes of Mads and Iversen but facing Batchelor and Sundstrom is a different kettle of fish.

Speedway’s Russian superstar, Emil Sayfutdinov, returns to the Norfolk Arena this coming Wednesday evening at 7:30pm as he leads the high charging Coventry Bees into Elite league action against the King’s Lynn ‘Roger Warnes Transport’ Stars.According to King’s Lynn Team Manager, Rob Lyon, the Stars place in the final top four and qualification for the Elite league title play offs is now under threat from Coventry, Peterborough and Lakeside "They are all pushing hard and catching up with us. I feel that Eastbourne and Poole have secured their place and that only leaves two more to be filled. While Peterborough are 14 points behind they have six matches in hand, Lakeside are six points behind and are there to catch us if we make any mistakes, while Coventry have three matches in hand and are only seven points behind us. In my eyes Coventry are our biggest threat, they only lost by ten points on their last visit and I believe they have found form since then and will be harder to beat them this time round, especially with Fillip missing from the team due to official duties in the Czech Republic.’ Coventry’s team has changed considerably since their last visit with former Knight, Travis McGowan now featuring at reserve alongside young Australian sensation, Nick Morris. Polish sensation, Przemyslaw Pawlicki, will also be making his track debut and Kenni Larsen will also make his Elite League track debut, previously scoring 12 points for Newcastle in the Premier League. The Stars will track the same team as last week apart from Fillip Sitera, who is away on official Czech duty with Stars asset Simon Lambert coming in to replace him. Promoter, Keith Chapman, believes this will be the Stars toughest test this season ‘Coventry are in the in form team of the moment and I am worried they could throw a spanner in the works in our attempt to reach the play offs. We cannot afford to suffer any bud luck like we did last week and on top of that I believe all our riders must be on top form as Coventry’s line up is mind blowing and thy will be the toughest team King’s Lynn have taken on this season!’ Meeting Information: Gates open at 18:30, riders parade starts at 19:30 with first race at 19:45. KING'S LYNN 44 BUILDBASE BEES 48THE Buildbase Bees are firmly in the play-off race after a tremendous away win at third-placed King’s Lynn on Wednesday. Bees put on a strong all-round display at the Norfolk Arena and had control of the meeting for much of the night, before being limited to three points rather than four with some misfortune in the closing stages. But it is still a significant result as it moves them to within four points of fourth-placed Lakeside, and with five matches in hand – whilst also putting pressure on Peterborough, who are further down the table but with even more fixtures to ride. Bees, who continued to use rider-replacement for the suspended Edward Kennett, took advantage of a lower-order weakness for the Stars which was magnified by the fact that home specialist Olly Allen was missing due to a shoulder injury. With Przemyslaw Pawlicki enjoying his first visit to King’s Lynn and Kenni Larsen continuing the form he showed there at Premier League level, Bees had ample top-end backing for the spectacular Emil Sayfutdinov, whilst the remainder of the team all contributed key points. Pawlicki and Ryan Fisher secured an important 5-1 over home star Niels-Kristian Iversen in Heat 7 as Bees performed strongly in mid-meeting, and their six point lead after Heat 9 would have been more but for a fall for Nick Morris in Heat 8 when he held a comfortable third place. There were fireworks in a dramatic Heat 10 battle between Pawlicki, Fisher and Lasse Bjerre with the Bees duo doing enough to secure a 3-3 before the riders compared notes and more besides afterwards, but Coventry kept their focus and took maximum points over Iversen again in the next race, this time thanks to team-riding from Larsen and Sayfutdinov. Mads Korneliussen went for double points in Heat 12 but that move was repelled by captain Fisher with a fine race win, as Josh Auty overhauled Tomas Topinka for a vital third place to keep the lead at ten points. Iversen responded by holding Sayfutdinov at bay in Heat 13 as the Stars clawed two back, but Bees did wrap the match up in the penultimate race, although Morris was highly unlucky to drop a chain whilst leading – and just as he pulled out of the race, Pawlicki shot from third to first for his third win of the night. That left Bees needing a 3-3 for maximum points from the meeting, but it wasn’t to be as Iversen superbly went between Sayfudtinov and Larsen coming off turn four – and then it all went wrong as Sayfutdinov ground to a halt and Larsen slowed with a broken saddle, allowing Kenneth Bjerre through for a 5-1, albeit too late for the Stars to take anything from the meeting themselves. Bees co-boss Alun Rossiter said: “The best thing about this performance was our gating was 100 per cent better than it has been recently, and we’ve now got to keep this momentum going into next week’s match at Swindon. “I’m pleased with everyone, especially Josh and Nick at reserve because we had the better of things there. Josh has picked up well this week, and Nick is doing a great job for us. “Three points is still a good result although things do seem to be conspiring against us at the moment what with the problems in the last few races. But we’ve got to be fairly happy especially after everything that’s gone on, and I think there will be some changes next week.” KING’S LYNN 44: Kenneth Bjerre 11+2, Mads Korneliussen 11+1, Niels-Kristian Iversen 11, Lasse Bjerre 8, Tomas Topinka 2+2, Simon Lambert 1, Olly Allen R/R. BUILDBASE BEES 48: Emil Sayfutdinov 12+1, Przemek Pawlicki 11, Kenni Larsen 10, Ryan Fisher 6+2, Josh Auty 5+1, Nick Morris 4+1, Edward Kennett R/R. beesweb

The King's Lynn 'Roger Warnes Transport' Stars secured their place in the 2011 Elite League playoffs with 50:43 home win over the Birmingham Brummies on Wednesday night. In front of the Sky cameras, the Stars showed true determination as the came from six points down after three heats to win by seven points overall with Kenneth Bjerre scoring a paid maximum from five rides. Kenneth and Lasse Bjerre were split by Brummies guest Scott Nicholls in the opening heat to take the early lead in the meeting but the Stars were reduced to six riders in the second race. Kozza Smith fell whilst in second place ahead of team mate Fillip Sitera, the recent addition to the team left Sitera with no place to go and the pair collided, Smith was given lengthy treatment on the track and was taken away by ambulance and subsequently withdrawn from the meeting. Sitera on the other hand was ok to take his place in the rerun but suffered damage to his hand. In the rerun of the heat, Sitera couldn't match the speed of the Brummies reserves which gave them their first heat advantage and the lead in the meeting. One of the most formidable partnerships in the league in Ben Barker and Danny King scored a successive maximum heat for the visitors in a rerun heat three, in the first instance Olly Allen fell while trying hard to catch the Birmingham riders. The Stars hit back in the fourth heat and stopped the Birmingham maximum heats with their own, Niels-Kristian Iversen made his way past former King's Lynn rider Daniel Nermark on the third lap to take the win while a bashed up Sitera snached second place on the run to the line. Kenneth & Lasse levelled the meeting up in the sixth heat, the older Bjerre brother came from last place to take the heat win while Lasse finished ahead of Nermark to give the Stars another heat advantage. The Brummies it back with a win from Ben Barker and a third place from Danny King in the seventh but the Stars started to make up ground again and managed to take the lead in heat 8 when Lasse took a heat win ahead of a spirited performance from Sitera who came from last to grab second place. Allen & Korneliussen proved to strong for the visiting team in heat nine and scored King's Lynn's fourth heat advantage of the night and that quickley moved on to five when the Bjerre brothers linked up well to keep out King & Barker in heat 10 and open up a ten point lead Birmingham closed the gap between the teams in heat 11 when Scott Nicholls won a tactical ride ahead of Iversen and with Ostergaard beating Sitera, Birmingham worked their way back into the meeting with another heat advantage in heat 12 when King & Ostergaard were split by Captain Olly Allen. In heat 13, Iversen took an early lead following a good gate and he was joined by Kenneth Bjerre to score a maximum heat and give the home team a 7 point advantage. A win from Mads Korneliussen in heat 14 was followed by a heat win from Kenneth Bjerre in heat 15 which secured the seven point win and a place in the Elite League Playoffs. A delighted promotor Jonathan Chapman said after the meeting: " It was great, the riders started cheering once we saw Kenneth hit the front (in heat 15) and we started jumping around on the last lap, when he crossed the line there was a lot of joy and happiness" "I've never known a team to want it so much, they were all out there fighting for it even though they were not on the bike, you can't ask for any more than that. Every single rider has said: I have never wanted to win as much as tonight." "Olly compared it to the time he won the league with Coventry, he said it never felt like we wanted it this bad even after winning the league title. " "It feels bigger than anything we have done here so far in the history of the club" Asked who he wanted in the playoffs, Chapman said: "Poole, bring them on." starsweb

How did that happen We must have been missed off the sheet King's Lynn's Norfolk Arena has been awarded the title of best track in 2011.It's the first time in the clubs history that they have received the accolade from the SCB & BSPA. During the course of the season in British Speedway, referees and team captains rate each track to determine the overall winner. The track at the Norfolk arena is renowned for producing exciting racing which has led to it hosting the second event at the World Cup for two years now and a third due to be held in July next year. www.klstars.co.uk/
However, while the team may have come up short, one thing that can never be questioned if the East of England Showground's standing as the entertainment capital of British Speedway. The city track is unquestionably the finest in the country and all it needs is a silver lining. Read more: www.borospeedway.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=pgen&action=display&thread=803#ixzz1dzoV4fNU

can't see much of it tho and the pea houses are a disgrace/stink What we need is "An Idiot at Speedway" (I'm sure that the intelligent amongst us have already thought of all of the name association jokes anyone thinks that they may wish to crack at this point ). Karl Pilkington's overall view would be much more credible. He seems very toilet orientated so I'm sure he'd ask how difficult is it to provide acceptable toilets? There is a rumour that this isn't China but was actually shot at Saddlebow Road, I think that's incorrect and somebody's just having a laugh

KING’S Lynn co-promoter Jonathan Chapman expects the Stars to be quick off the mark with their team-building for next season.
Regulations for the 2012 season are being finalised at this weekend’s AGM, and the Norfolk Arena club are eager to build on a successful first year back in the Elite League.
Chapman said: “We always like to build a team quickly. Even though we were the last team in the Elite League last year, we were the first to announce a full team. We want to make as few team changes as possible.
“We thoroughly enjoyed the Elite League this year and we thought it was hugely entertaining and exciting. When something is that good, you don’t want to change it.”

Still living within the novelty factor. 2011 was a big bonus but they've got to replicate that and it's not new any more. Shouldn't be3 too long before they're saying "do you remember 2011"? As you say though, fishing around for team fillers is the beauty of a low points limit. With the EL allegedly cutting it's cloth accordingly for another year we must be running out of fabric

Following on from the Signing of David Howe, King's Lynn Stars club management have announced their second signing for the 2012 season.
Fans favourite and Danish World Cup racer Mads Korneliussen will spend another season at the Norfolk Arena after agreeing a new deal.
For the Stars last season, Korneliussen had his best year in British Speedway and ended up with a 7.44 average, his performances also earned him a call up the Danish National Squad for the World Cup in July.
Korneliussen's never give up attitude made him an instant hit with the supporters at the Norfolk Arena and for next season he is looking to build on the progress he and the club made this season.
After agreeing a new deal to stay with the club in 2012, Korneliussen said: "I'm really pleased to be back."
"There was nowhere else I wanted to go, I didn't want to go back to Swindon and I had a good chat with Rosco (Alun Rossiter, Swindon team manager) about it and we both came to the decision that it was best for me to stay at King's Lynn because i've had a successful year and we can build on that."
