If they play Ray Parlour rapping one more time then I'm going to chuck the radio out of the window. I've had to get up twice already to turn the bloody thing off.

Thank God for Brexit and Talkradio. It's the "I'm going to Cheltenham" (you're no doubt not and doing the normal daily grind) and everybody loves me week Brazil is, amazingly, more irritating in early March than he normally is. Made me laugh the other day when they were talking about people not handling their drink (think that it was footy trouble) and he said that he could take 6 pints without it affecting him. Yup, sums you up

Absolute hypocrites - sold their souls to the devil, The Sun. Brazil is so bad I’m convinced he must have photos.

Cheltenham week it is if you didn't know or haven't heard the piss head since about November. I love it myself and will watch it all (indeed off work for Tuesday which is the best day) but the name dropping and oneupmanship really grind my gears. Brazil is just the poor man's Derek Thompson. I remember Tommo interviewing some people on the rails on year and it was like "oh look, I've found some commoners to talk to" as he preceded to interview them with sympathy and pity You're right about the gambling. I never knew that there were so many firms. As you say, regular as clockwork some bugger giving crap odds on something or other. When the fun stops, stop, indeed! For many (and I speak as a gambler who easily stops) the fun stops when they start so my advice would be open an ISA index tracker instead

Joking about whether your employee would turn up for work or too hungover to bother. I just don’t understand why they bow down to him, absolutely useless. As for that gobshite Durham, he’s disappeared so far up Murdoch’s backside it’s embarrassing. I’ve never been much of a gambler but bookies, along with charity shops appear to be thriving. 💰💰💰☀️😎🍺🍾🏝

I’ve never been much of a gambler but bookies, along with charity shops appear to be thriving. 💰💰💰☀️😎🍺🍾🏝 Bookies were thriving and sprung up due to the fixed odds betting terminal limit of 4 machines per shop and £100 maximum bet. It really was like printing money for the bookies. I suspect shops will start to go when the £2 maximum (more my sort of stake ) comes in in April.

I see Tai is encouraging people to back him, at 9/4 odds I see little point, or is it just me Usually have a fun bet on the GP’s, often keeps it interesting. Apart from The Grand National (the hardest race in the World to pick a winner) that’s about it for me. I have never understood how gambling can become such an addiction and serious problem for so many. My nemesis is Red wine, so I decided not to drink anymore. Although, I don’t drink any less No it’s not just you. I see no point in backing the outright GP winner at such short odds. As we all know, it’s a dangerous game that can change in a heat. Think my £1 will be on Dudek.

Even as a gambler (who does it for fun and never ever bets anything that he'd miss from the finances), 9/4 over a season is crap in a motorsport when one of the numerous crashes he'll have in the year could have such a bearing, along with other variables. Given that £20 on a 9/4 will return £65 (profit £45) - whoopie do! Best to wait until GP 1 & 2 because if someone hits the ground running and Woffinden has solid but not spectacular rounds then those odds will lengthen - could get 11/4 or 3/1 or better although I'd still swerve it. You'd get more fun (and probable return) from betting £2 on each of the 10 rounds in 2019 (The Hodgy system )

The Two Mikes are brilliant. Listen to all their Podcasts - very funny. Mike Parry @mikeparry8 12/4/19
OK FOLKS .. it's Friday but there is no more TWO MIKES. We have reached the end of the road. Thank you so much for all your support over the years. I have thoroughly enjoyed engaging with you and hope to still be doing so through radio, TV, podcasts and Life on Planet Porky.Saw a tweet from Parry the other night about this but now confirmed. I wonder what went on there? I'd imagine that most people fall out with Parry at some point if involved with him too long? That's what it looks like at times, rightly or wrongly

Pathetic good cop bad cop example the other day over the new handball in the box rules; with Durham calling them what they are, bloody ridiculous, whereas Gough had to take the alternative view because that's how the show works. However when you're trying to say that defenders trying to defend by running, jumping, tackling etc have to keep their hands fixed to their side or behind them and adapt then the good cop bad cop system looks particularly pathetic - I turned the radio off at that point bang-head-on-wall

Durham loves himself but most listeners comments are so negative normal employers would bin him. However, this is The Sun Show and they thrive on controversial crap. It’s usually off after 15 mins now.

Bookmaker William Hill has announced that it is consulting on plans to close about 700 betting shops. It said a large number of redundancies was anticipated, with 4,500 employees at risk of losing their jobs. The firm added that the move followed the government's decision in April to reduce the maximum stake on fixed-odds betting terminals to £2.Since then, the company added, it had seen "a significant fall" in gaming machine revenues. BBC 4/7/19 A very established Bookmaker that seriously underestimated the competition. They’ve lost a thriving market - pi$$ poor management. It will not change my life one iota but feel for those it will (the staff). My sister in law was made redundant from Ladbrokes last week. They let the Bet Fred / Paddy Powers in. Expect more charity shops will crop up and put someone on a beach in the Bahamas.

Gloryhunters Sunday 9am with Charie Baker - what a waste of electric that is. Radio off straight away!!
If ever The Warm Up with Max Rushden & Barry Glendenning needed to start an hour earlier then Sunday is the day.

Just swapped Julie Hartley-Brewer (it's all about me!) for Nick Ferrari at breakfast, so a switch from Talkradio to LBC, but quick switchback at 10 before that knobhead O'Brien comes on. Mike Graham on Talkradio is a must from 10am - where is Porky Parry these days? Saw a tweet that he's consigned to podcasts or something thesedays. Is he ever on radio?

Heard an interview with James on TalkRadio this week. Not looking good for him but holding his head up, trying to remain positive. Didn’t realise he lost his wife 2 years ago to Cancer.

Heard an interview with James on TalkRadio this week. Not looking good for him but holding his head up, trying to remain positive. Didn’t realise he lost his wife 2 years ago to Cancer. He was on with Wootton last night. Was quite chipper and upbeat but he is well aware of the seriousness of his situation. Good to hear that he is putting on weight after starting treatment. Hopefully that continues to work, along with any chemo or radiotherapy he may need in the future, because it's probably more about management rather than cure. He's approaching 70 and looking forward to the next 10 years. Melinda died of lung cancer 2 years ago (having never smoked) and had a rough time of it. Whale was, and continues to be, very scathing of the NHS in terms of organisation and administration, not the medical staff who did everything within their power to help her and keep the NHS going.

Must say that the American presidential election (sponsored by betfair I think) is getting right on my nerves on Talkradio. It's not the content, it's the fact that it's sponsored by a betting company which grinds my gears. Why would anyone waste money betting on that I don't know and they shouldn't be encouraging people to bet anyway IMO.
I can see the logic on Talksport (slightly) but it is overkill with as many firms as they can get in (basically all offering the same service to lose your money) polluting the airwaves - "bet responsibly and when the fun stops stop" okey dokey, that's not how it works and they know it!
