THREE of Peterborough’s 2013 line-up will gain some early track-time when they compete in the Brandonapolis at Coventry on Friday (7.30pm). Swedish star Linus Sundstrom is the defending Champion of the event, having got the better of Hans Andersen, Scott Nicholls and Edward Kennett in the Final twelve months ago. Panthers skipper Kenneth Bjerre returns to competitive action following his broken leg of last season at a venue where he has frequently scored well – whilst new signing Ryan Fisher makes a return to his parent club. Fisher rode for the Bees in 2002-03 and also 2011 before his switch to Plymouth last season and his eventual move to the Showground for 2013. www.peterboroughpanthersBrandanopolis timings

and so it proved:BRANDONAPOLIS POSTPONEDCOVENTRY have pulled the plug on tonight’s season-opening Brandonapolis – with heavy downpours expected to affect the region for most of the day. The meeting will now take place on a date to be confirmed later in the season, and the first Brandon track action of 2013 will now be the Coventry Storm’s Travel Plus Trophy clash with Dudley next Friday. Co-promoter Neil Watson said: “We’ve consulted several weather forecasts, and the message from all of them is that heavy rain is expected for most of the day. “With that in mind we’ve taken an early decision to call the meeting off in order to minimise inconvenience for supporters and riders alike. “It’s a real shame to have to do this, but we will look to re-stage the meeting probably towards the end of the season.” www.coventrybees.co
