Good to see the promotion doing a cracking job (quote from the BSF):

"very poor crowd, probably the worst I've seen there. Should have been a lot more fans there with that strong line-up, and no Elite trophy presentation?"

A more general BSF post is probably closer to the mark for 2013:

"lack of disposable income is one reason. a lot of people are struggling to find the money to pay their household bills and handing over the best part of 20 quid for fifteen minutes of racing is probably not one of their priorities. it's going to be a struggle for speedway to hold on to it's fan base in these hard times."
