Branford wins with one good gate when it mattered but with 3, 2, 1, 0 in the final they could have had a run-off between Garrity & Howarth (both on 16 points and beaten each other) which would have been more reflective of the meeting 1. Jason Garrity (Rye House) 3, 3, 3, 3, 3 = 15 2. Shane Hazelden (Kings Lynn) 0, 0, 1, 1, 1 = 3 3. Robert Branford (Coventry) 2, 3, 3, 1, 3 = 12 4. Darryl Ritchings (Isle of Wight) 1, 1, 2, 3, 1 = 8 5. Ashley Morris (Workington/Dudley) 3, 2, 3, 2, 3 = 13 6. Max Clegg (Dudley) 1, 1, 1, 0, 0 = 3 7. Ben Morley (Kent) 2, 1, R, 1, 0 = 4 8. Josh Bates (Scunthorpe/Mildenhall) X, 0, 1, 2, R = 3 9. Stefan Nielsen (Somerset/Mildenhall) R, R, R, 2, 2 = 4 10. Kyle Howarth (Poole/Workington) 3, 3, 3, 3, 2 = 14 11. Matt Williamson (Buxton) 1, 0, 0, 0, 0 = 1 12. Tom Perry (Somerset/Isle of Wight) 2, 3, 2, 2, 2 = 11 13. Danny Stoneman (Isle of Wight) 1, 1, 1, 3, 1 = 7 14. James Sarjeant (Coventry) 3, 2, 2, 0, 2 = 9 15. Dan Greenwood (Dudley) 2, 2, 0, 1, 1 = 6 16. Joe Jacobs (Glasgow/Coventry) X, 2, 2, 0, 3 = 7 Grand-Final: Branford, Howarth, Garrity, MorrisComments: Branford made a super start as the other scattered this way and that, He had a decent lead up to half way through the heat but all 3 were charging hard and hunting him down. Garrity and Morris swapped places 3 times texter thinks. ALl 4 within a few bikes lengths as they cross the line. Sponsored by speedwayupdates

It's an absolute joke. I remember years ago Malcolm Brown winning his fifth race in the Golden Gauntlets over the unbeaten John Boulger, after he had had four ducks. If that had been a final it would have been a travesty, like a lot of Grand Finals are now. Let's face it, it was brought in for Sky, like the tactical ride, the green helmet, the six lap heat fifteen, team race suits which make it hard to know who is who. the only thing that is left is the TR, and it's time to ditch that also and go back to TS.

Never really understood this 1 semi and 1 final format, individuals should be surely be run over a straight 20 heats or then run 2 semis and a final with the top 8 qualifying as per GP,s.
Typical of our organisation making a sows ear out of something that should really be straightforward.
