Bartosz Zmarzlik handed Wild Card slot in Gorzow
Polish starlet Bartosz Zmarzlik will have the chance to repeat his 2012 bronze medal heroics after being handed the Gorzow FIM Speedway Grand Prix of Poland wild card.
The Gorzow rider, who dons the No.16 race jacket at the Edward Jancarz Stadium on June 15, took the speedway world by storm, when he finished third behind Martin Vaculik and eventual world champion Chris Holder in the 2012 Gorzow SGP last June.
Zmarzlik, who also races for Swedish Elitserien champions Vetlanda, would love to repeat the 13-point haul he achieved last season.
And this isn’t the 18-year-old’s only chance of glory on the world stage. He is among the favourites to win the three-round FIM Speedway Under-21 World Championship Final, which gets underway at Polish venue Pila on June 29.
Zmarzlik is joined in the Gorzow SGP by club colleagues Adrian Cyfer and Lukasz Cyran, who will serve as track reserves. Cyfer lines up in the No.17 race jacket, while Cyran is No.18.
The referee at the Edward Jancarz Stadium is Jesper Steentoft from Denmark.

Feel sorry for Patryk Dudek, Doesn't matter what he does.. He won't get a wild-card due to club politics.

gonna back A.J again at 40s and Emil at 9/2 ,Puk should be the form horse , but I can't back a rider who's blown as many big races as him (when it comes down to the nitty gritty )

What he said beforehand:
TAI Woffinden is raring to go for theGorzow FIM Speedway Grand Prix. The Wolverhampton and Wroclaw star came through practice in the Edward Jancarz Stadium and has reported no reaction this morning. And that means the British racer will take his place just a fortnight after shattering his collarbone in his home round at Cardiff. Said Woffinden: "I'm going for it. Practice felt surprisingly good and I'm really pleased with the way things went. "It was hurting, but that's what I expected. There's obviously an issue, it's so soon after my crash, but it's manageable. "If I can pick up six or seven points then that's a bonus, that's what I'm here for. I will be riding sensibly and hopefully I can get through the meeting with no dramas. "It felt better than it might have done, I didn't know what to expect before I tried it. But I'm second in the World Championship and I'm going out there to keep things going."
If anyone deserves to take a bow it's the tattooed one. What an effort that was. Didier Drogba would have taken a year off and he only runs around.

WOLVERHAMPTON star Tai Woffinden battled through the pain barrier to take a remarkable third place finish at the Polish Grand Prix in Gorzow.Despite badly breaking his collarbone at the British Grand Prix just a fortnight ago, the Scunthorpe born racer defied medical advice to make his third Grand Final appearance of the season and kept his World Championship dream alive. After suffering a slow start with two last places in his opening three rides, Woffinden stormed to back-to-back wins to sneak into the semi-finals on eight points. He then took victory from the tough outside gate in the semi-final to seal a spot in the decisive race before taking third place behind Chris Holder and winner Jarek Hampel. But he was thrilled with his performance to leave Gorzow 11 points behind leader Emil Sayfutdinov in the standings. Said Woffinden: "It was a great night for me overall. It was tough but we dug deep in the end to get the job done." Wolves team boss Peter Adams - who works as part of Woffinden's GP pit crew - has also praised the 22-year-old for his display. He said: "He was quite clearly in agony between his races, but it was a heroic display in the end and he can be very proud of his performance." Meanwhile, fellow Wolves man Fredrik Lindgren was left frustrated after just missing out on a third consecutive semi-final appearance. The Swedish ace scored seven points from his five rides leaving him in eleventh place in the World Championship standings. FIM POLISH GRAND PRIX, Gorzow.Jaroslaw Hampel 14 (1st), Chris Holder 14 (2nd), Tai Woffinden 12 (3rd), Greg Hancock 12 (4th), Emil Sayfutdinov 15, Niels-Kristian Iversen 11, Krzysztof Kasprzak 10, Andreas Jonsson 9, Nicki Pedersen 8, Fredrik Lindgren 7, Matej Zagar 7, Bartosz Zmarzlik 6, Martin Vaculik 4, Tomasz Gollob 4, Antonio Lindback 3, Ales Dryml 2. wolvesweb
