LIVE coverage from the Speedway European Championship in Gdansk, Poland on 27 July 17:30 allegedly Britain’s Tai Woffinden has been announced to ride, which means he will join the likes of Tomasz Gollob, Nicki Pedersen and Emil Sayfutdinov. These three riders give you an insight to the quality of competition that will be attending this year’s championship. Traditionally the European Champs has not attracted the best riders in Speedway, but now, under new ownership, they have a great mixture of legends and young up and comers, such as Sayfutdinov, who currently leads the Speedway World Championships. Woffinden has been in devastating form this season, currently sitting second overall, having won his first Grand Prix in Prague. He suffered a potential season ending injury in the British Grand Prix, only to come out and reach the final two weeks later in Copenhagen. The championships were last held back in 2011, which saw Russian-born rider Grigory Laguta score his first win in the competition. Laguta has been the wildcard selection at the last four Latvian Grand Prix’s. Despite being the reigning champion, Laguta is yet to be given a spot in this year’s competition. Current GP riders Krzysztof Kasprzak and Matej Zagar have won the championships in the past.

He would go straight to jail and not collect £200. Now Woffy woffy woffy has been added to the line up yet not hearing anything regarding his participation.

At least the SEC girls actually look like women, Panthers take note ;-) Think we've got bigger problems tbh, there were actually some riders there who'd fill the real no1 slot I agree about the competition though, what's that all about? 1/3rd of a GP series with an average field and a few stars. I had it on FF and just watched the heats, often FF through them. It may take off. Someone has an agenda & money talks! Comedy commentating and Staechmann out of sync made it all worthwhile though? Steve Day @_SteveDay Still buzzing after speedway comms last night... Bit of a wobbly start but I think we improved as the night went on.. All a learning curve!Did improve to be fair Steve Day @_SteveDay Some amazing feedback Re: Speedway.. Thanks! It's still early days, very new to me and a lot to learn but your patience is appreciated!

My understanding is his club won't get a facility if he misses any matches, which apparently he will, so rock and hard face. Like a lot of others he is only interested now the prize money is on offer, I am sure if the money was good for riding for GB he would be interested in doing that as well. Looks like Andersen misses our match at home to Swindon over this, one wonders why they agreed the fixture date in the first place.

Weeks of sunshine with little Speedway action, yet agree a fixture when your no 1 will be absent, bizarre. Woffiden stated he will not miss any Wolves meetings. They are at Coventry the night before Russia. A private plane was mentioned in the interview - will need to bring Concorde out of retirement.

Really....must have missed that press release. When did a press release in such circumstances ever equal reality? They were pretty close when I did them but of course it is different depending on which side of the fence you sit. Mind you trying to write something positive about some of the Panthers matches this season isn't an easy task.

Then they wonder why people stop going or pick and choose meetings.

What about: Frost told the Peterborough Telegraph: “Troy is riding without a contract. There is no loan agreement in place and there is no transfer agreement in place. So without the right paperwork, the Swindon team cannot possibly be legal." So is all of the paperwork in place & loan fees paid and up to date as agreed?

"What do they need to save for, they never pay anything out." Keen not to find 32k over the winter weren't they! Is Patchett paying out at the end of the season, handing em back or dragging it out for another yet to be devised unwritten rule Oh I forgot, you wouldn't know. We'll just leave that on the back burner One has to fish to get anything (hopefully a denial or stinging reply which usually means you're onto something, even if it's just getting someone's back up!) in this business as you know and the rumour was there were some issues, never claimed facts!

I'm not alone though however wrong I am - from the BSF: "What a poor journalist the adver employ when he doesn't ask Rosco how PK could ride in Denmark on Wednesday but not on Thursday from an injury on Tuesday. Is it really to much to ask for a bit of proper journalism & honesty from the club on this issue? " (local journos ) "There will never be honesty about the real reason riders are missing. There have been stories for years about riders not getting paid and not once have the club come out to deny these. We all know why! "

This is where the BSPA/SCB should grow a pair! If this pseudo championship is not officially sanctioned they should prevent the riders from riding not penalised their UK clubs/fans.
