Thought so myself therefore booked Somerset v Ippo Fri, then SGP Challenge Saturday. Hopefully great couple of nights of action, Speedway might be good too 😄weather permitting.

PIRATES chief Matt Ford has tipped Poole star Maciej Janowski to shine on the Grand Prix stage – whether he qualifies this year or not.
The 22-year-old Pole will line up at his UK home when the GP Challenge comes to Wimborne Road on Saturday, August 24 (6.30pm).
The former world under-21 speedway champion qualified for the final showdown with a sixth-place finish in his semi-final in Lonigo, Italy.
And with the battle for the three available permanent 2014 Grand Prix spots taking place at Poole, Ford believes Janowski, nicknamed Magic, will benefit from his fine form at Wimborne Road this year.
Ford told the Daily Echo: “If the wind blows in the right direction, there is no reason for Maciej not to qualify this year. No one will know the track better than him, he is looking very good at Wimborne Road and there is no doubt he fancies his chances.
“Getting into the tournament is very difficult but if he doesn’t manage it this time, he clearly will be a Grand Prix star of the future. He lives with me and is an incredibly likeable young man. Maciej is just so easy to get on with and great to be around and I’m really hoping that, in his case, nice guys do win.”
Ford added: “He has shown some exceptional form so there is no reason to think he won’t be very competitive.
“The Grand Prix holds a very different type of pressure but you only have to look at Darcy Ward before his injury to see how quality riders can hit the ground running.
“Maciej had a wildcard last year and scored eight points so there is no question he can do well on the biggest stage. His attitude towards riding in Britain is to improve himself. The money the guys earn here is nowhere near what they get on the continent but he just wants to get better.
“As things stand, he is very capable of qualifying straight away and, if he does, I believe he will do himself and his country proud at the highest level.”
Janowski will be joined in the GP Challenge by Poole club-mate Tomas H Jonasson after the Swedish star booked his place from his qualifying round on Wednesday. The Pirates duo will face competition from pre-meeting favourite Niels-Kristian Iversen and former Poole pair Przemyslaw Pawlicki and Krzysztof Kasprzak.
Tickets have been set at £25 for adults, £20 OAPs, £10 11-15 year olds and £5 five-10 year olds, while it is free admission for under- fives. There will be no advanced ticket sales with a pay-on-the-day policy.
GP Challenge line-up: H Andersen, M Zagar, MJ Jensen, M Smolinski, V Milik, M Janowski, J Pavlic, NK Iversen, K Bjerre, A Loktaev, D Nermark, K Kasrpzak, Prz Pawlicki, TH Jonasson, Pi Pawlicki, plus GB wild card.

Full confident backing from Middlo Team Great Britain manager Neil Middleditch says GP Challenge wild card Danny King can prove he should have been in his Monster Energy FIM Speedway World Cup side by becoming a full-time Grand Prix star. The Birmingham captain has been nominated as the host nation’s entrant for the meeting, which is staged at Poole on August 24. King was given the chance after Edward Kennett fell short of reaching the final 16 in the semi-finals, while former SGP regulars Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls didn’t make it beyond the quarters. Middleditch admits he would have preferred to pick the wild card using a race off over three heats between four riders, which he hoped to stage during Poole’s British Elite League clash with Peterborough on Wednesday.

Seems crazy to even contemplate pulling out to me. Ward and Gollem could catch him or he may get injured. If your already there, go for it and make sure. The least he can do is try and get your 50p back. Thought you had given up GP betting. On the other side this is just another example of Bearitus. No consideration for the fans or event organisers. Me me me!!! It's time to stand up to these riders, their demands and arrogance.

"Grand Prix star Matej Zagar admits he may pull out of the GP Challenge at Poole on Saturday night"non runner no bet I assume. As long as I don't lose my money I don't mind. If I do then I'll take the hit but close my account & never bet with Vic again. nb. if you can't afford to lose it then don't bet You're a thing ITK, is this being streamed anywhere

What irritates me about SGP betting is that you can pick a finalist but not get a pay out. 16 runners usually gets paid 1,2,3,4 at 1/4 odds. The GP has 16 runners but they pay 1,2,3 1/5 odds. I bet for fun & not to lose (not bothered about winning or chasing money) but to get a finalist but no payout just does my head in

Anyone but the Swindon 3 will be fine by me, although couldn't give a stuff tbh

Heat 14: Pawlicki, Jonasson, Batchelor, Janowski; 60.3 That could well be the end for Batchelor as well.
Andy Warren @andywarren Batchelor finishes on nine, Andersen on seven and Kildemand zero. All three Robins miss out.

Paul Burbidge @paul_Burbidge
Just to clarify, if Iversen qualifies tonight and makes the #SGP top 8, the fourth rider in the #gpchallenge qualifies for the SGP series.

5 hours to Somerset to see 4 races, doh!!! Nice little set up though with great racing track.
Main event at Poole was disappointing. Such a big meeting yet track prep was awful, how many of the sizeable crowd would bother next time. The Poole gate 4 graveyard kept the scoring close. The atmosphere was strangely subdued and flat, even when the Poles were on track - do they have an air horn ban at Poole as didn't hear one? Zager's decision to pull out was disgraceful in my opinion. Bet the BV supporters that made the trek were chuffed with their star man - screwed Pavlic up too. Hope the selfish git doesn't make the top 8 now. The arrogance of some of these riders, Zager, Bear and Oik will only encourage more supporters to give it a miss.
Oh well, still had a great laugh. Speedway does attract some freaky people.
