Speedway World Championship 2016
Top 8 from 2015 confirmed
1 Tai Woffinden 163 2 Greg Hancock 147 3 Nicki Pedersen 131 4 Niels-Kristian Iversen 120 5 Jason Doyle 114 6 Matej Zagar 107 7 Maciej Janowski 106 8 Chris Holder 95
GP Challenge Top 3 confirmed 9 Bartosz Zmarzlik (Pol) 10 Piotr Pawlicki (Pol) 11 Chris Harris
Wild cards 2015 12 Tomas H Jonasson - why? 13 Niels-Kristian Iversen (an easy pic & chance of success - last year's Hampel pick for 2016?) 14 Troy Batchelor - couldn't qualify by right but was perhaps worth a shout but vindicated the qualification process. He may have been hampered by a shoulder injury. If he improves his temperament and consistency he is good enough for top 8. 15 Michael Jepsen Jensen - worth another shout IMO.
16 Permanent rotating, meeting by meeting wildcard.

Being one of the 4 permanent wild cards if like getting promoted to the Premiership. It's a shock to the system entering the cut-throat world of the SGP and all about survival really because a second year without the shock, but with relevant preparation, will tell if they really can cut it at that level?

Jaroslaw Hampel, Peter Kildemand, Andreas Jonsson and Antonio Lindback are the four wildcards. That'll set the pulse's racing. Not.

The only real surprise was both swedes being selected as Hampel and Kildemand was certs, it's a real shame that the Sayfutdinov doesn't fancy it but it's still a good line up next year. It will be interesting to see how the two young poles go.

Can see the logic for Hampel & Kildemand but AJ is becoming the Swedish Chris Harris (although at least Harris qualifies by right) whereas Lindback always flatters to deceive. He looks the part and can beat the best occasionally but his realistic target before we start is 8, same as AJ who never gets going until the series is coming to an end.

Strange old situation It's very strange, we clearly don't know the full story because he rides the European Championship which in real terms doesn't hold a candle to the World Championship. A few years ago very few riders even bothered with it until the prize money went through the roof, I rather suspect it's the prize money or lack of it in the GP,s that's making this decision.

I would have thought that being World Champion would compensate for loss of earnings (although he must make a shedful anyway), if that is the case. Why not do both? Pedersen does without a problem. Makes you think that there's more to it (someone has upset someone somewhere) but if he was really interested then he could sail through the qualifiers - it's a mystery

And Darren Fletcher can do the commentary, but under no circumstances invite Robbie Savage to assist.

Will this mean a further subscription being required?

Will this mean a further subscription being required? If you haven't got BT Sport and want to watch the SGP then yes. I suppose someone will post a link to a live stream from somewhere but I can't be arsed with all of that. And apart from Robbie Savage, BT sport is good. Fortunately I like football, Moto GP in small doses and some of the other stuff it has, as well as being fortunate enough to be able to afford the subscription because I'm not on the BT platform for TV services at this time, even though I am for broadband. It's priorities and preferences Rodders.

Will this mean a further subscription being required? I am going to have to talk really nicely to my "Head Office" if I am to be able to watch in 2016 as when the MD contracted the Business's office and our Home to BT Phone/Broadband packages he assumed we would benefit from getting BT Sports for free as advertised. When he enquired about this he was informed we would not be eligible due to having BT Business Broadband and we may use it for commercial purposes for the general public. He protested that they knew full well we are a farming business and have been out to the premises several times so are aware of our location in the middle of nowhere. The answer was still no which is really annoying.

Nothing would surprise me about BT, or on second thoughts I would be surprised if they got something right BT shares doing very nicely though Rodders, unless you held them when they hit £15 in December 1999 (the height of the dot-com boom) which makes the current £4.795 look a touch shabby. I held them in 1999 bash

Nothing would surprise me about BT, or on second thoughts I would be surprised if they got something right To be fair we changed to BT Business Broadband on recommendation from others locally after we had terrible problems with our phone with Unicom who left us without a landline for 3 weeks - that was the final straw! At that time our Internet was with TalkTalk and problematic too but BT has been fine and any problems which have been few over the last 3/4 years dealt with very promptly just as we were told by our neighbours. I could understand their stance if we were a pub or restaurant but one of our locations is a private house and the other a farmyard.

I'm well miffed BT now have the GP's. Took out a new BT contract for broadband and landline, advised BT Sport is free (paid £3 month last contract). After a week of no sports channel called again, oh sorry sir you don't have BT TV therefore £5 per month, oh you want HD that will total £11 per month. BT Sport is free lying gits!!!

This is a deliberate ploy and has been reported to the Ombudsman. I received several E mails saying it was £5 whereas it is £5 Plus £4 . I complained and have it free for a year.

GP's were fine on Eurosport, although they like to confuse your serial link. With Sky sports I had all the speedway covered. I really enjoyed telling them to stuff their 'free' BT Sport but seems I now need it,,,Grrrrrrrrr!!!. Will try your cunning plan first.
