Why I wonder do Trade Unions think that there is a limitless supply of money , and that they should be insulated above every one else in economic situations in which every one is effected. Their job is to stand up for their members and that's all they are doing. It's not always about money but that's what headlines will show to turn the public against them. The public sector has been screwed under the Tories so that group have a reasonable gripe IMO. I had to get my employment record from HMRC and it showed that pay was static from 2010, and with inflation and increased pension contributions eating in was a real terms salary cut. In 2016 my pay was less than it was in 2010. It got back to 2010 levels (or thereabouts) by the time I left 15 months ago. There's a limitless supply for Bankers, MPs and other big company bosses etc, often unearned by the incompetent. I agree, the Tories have made very little secret of who they support and have screwed everyone else, the country’s in a right mess especially that controlled directly by the Government. Unfortunately I don’t think Starmer and Labour are likely to do any better.

The point I make and stand by is that unions who in my view are also politically motivated seem to think whatever situation we are in the consequences should not apply to them and that there is a bottomless pit of money and they should always have first pick. Many will site fat cats who none of this applies to but even Karl Marx accepted that under any political system there would always be the have and the have nots, the despots being different people but despots nonetheless.

Unfortunately I don’t think Starmer and Labour are likely to do any better. The Tories have lost the plot but going for the nuclear option of Starmer & his toxic bunch of nutters is a much bigger concern. Do you know of any cruise companies that do 5 or 10 year sailing holidays
