Not a bad treble - that opening and stadium view always gives me goosebumps.

20 Mar 1982 Joan Jett And The Blackhearts started a seven week run at No.1 on the US singles chart with 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll', a No.4 hit in the UK. The song had been a B-side from 60s bands The Arrows.

born 25 Mar 1942 American singer and songwriter Aretha Franklin, The Queen of Soul, who had the 1967 US No.1 & UK No.10 single 'Respect', the 1968 UK No.4 single 'I Say A Little Prayer' and the 1987 UK No.1 single with George Michael, 'I Knew You Were Waiting'. She scored over 15 other Top 40 hits and won 18 Grammys during her career. Franklin died on August 16, 2018 in Detroit at the age of 76 after being diagnosed with cancer in 2010.

AIDS was so rife in the 80’s / 90’s. Don’t hear much of it these days. Awful song. Yup, new disease and wrong time to be infected. Medicine seems to have caught up with it these days and modern day drugs allow people to lead pretty untroubled lives I believe? Was a death sentence at that time. Freddie Mercury and Jermaine Stewart spring to mind off the top of my head but there were many others?

As Patrick Bet-David says, it's all about data; and as Dan Bongino says, I always produce receipts: the data and receipts do say that you've got that one wrong. As you say though, each to their own.

The song was originally intended for The Beach Boys, with Jacks serving as producer for the recording.
