Martin Vaculik will be the first Slovakian rider ever to appear in the FIM Speedway Grand Prix series when he replaces the injured Jaroslaw Hampel in the FIM Gorzow Speedway Grand Prix of Poland on June 23.
The 22-year-old qualified as first reserve for this year by finishing fourth in the GP Challenge at Vetlanda last August.
As a result, he will don the No.19 race jacket at the Edward Jancarz Stadium and cover for world No.3 Hampel, who suffered a broken leg in the FIM Dansk Metal Danish SGP in Copenhagen on Saturday.
Vaculik is no stranger to competing with and against the sport’s heavyweights. He races with world champion Greg Hancock at Polish club Tarnow and teams with SGP trio Jason Crump, Emil Sayfutdinov and Hampel at Swedish side Vetlanda.
The Zarnovica-born man has been in rock-solid form for both clubs this term and will be keen to make his mark when he lines up in the biggest meeting of his career to date.

Bjerre and Andersen at bigger odds than a bloke I've never heard of Been impressed with Lindgren lately and think 25/1 is too big. Also about time Mr Inconsistent Jonsson did one so will take 10s with the same firm.

A fine example of why betting isn't the brightest hobby: 1 Martin Vaculik 2 Chris Holder 3 Bartosz Zmarzlik 4 Tomasz Gollob

it will probaly give him the kick up the arse he needs,he needs to learn to race again not rely on fast equipment (sadly lacking this season) can you see him getting better this season riggers looking from the outside he doesn't look like he has the fire in his belly or the right mentality to turn things around next season with a new start and that he mind he might become a different proposition again

Jonsson did it in 2011 to finish 3rd so nothing is impossible. But where as Lindgren (who was in the same bracket as Bjerre IMO) is kicking on, Bjerre is turning into Bjarne Pedersen. Pearson called Andersen ruthless last night and that's an important trait that Bjerre has never had to any great extent. He's lightweight and relies on gating and speed (as you say), that's not really enough these days against the best. Remember when Peter Collins used to talk about Jimmy Nilsen sitting in his armchair? Well that's Bjerre atm but he's at the wrong end of the race whereas Nilsen was at the front. I think overall that he's never going to get where he wants to be so I'm not sure that a new start out of the GPs will be helpful I'd sound out Sayfutdinov for 2013, he's treading water and needs a change. Would be unbeatable at the EoES, even against Holder & Ward!

Mark Plummer @markplummer81
Kenneth Bjerre 66/1 for Grand Prix. Can't resist a quid each/way again #sucker #speedway
Jeez, I'd have stood that and given bigger odds ;D

can you see him getting better this season riggers looking from the outside he doesn't look like he has the fire in his belly or the right mentality to turn things around Just noticed Plummer's tweet so the answer is almost a certain no Mark Plummer @markplummer81@dick_butler Bjerre will hit form for Panthers this year. Too good a rider to struggle all season.
