Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson could hand a start to returning striker Aaron Mclean, who has joined on loan from Bradford.Gabby Zakuani is back from international duty, but Marcus Maddison and Jack Baldwin remain sidelined. Swindon, now second after last Saturday's win over leaders Bristol City, have no new injury worries. They welcome back Massimo Luongo and Yaser Kasim from international duty with Australia and Iraq respectively. Peterborough United boss Darren Ferguson told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire:On the new Moy's End opening and facing Swindon before Bristol City: "It's an exciting time. "Hopefully we get as many supporters at the ground as we need. They are two great games. "We have to take care of the first one against a team that are playing very well. "These games are the ones I want at the moment, we need to step up and make sure we get a performance." Swindon Town manager, and former Posh boss, Mark Cooper told BBC Wiltshire:"There's a good mood here but we're fully aware we've got a tough game on Saturday. "They have a very good record against teams in the top eight. "To go to London Road, where they are always strong, is going to be a tough task." bbc image from theposh.com

Well the slide is well and truly on as Ferguson's side lose at home yet again by two goals to one to League One's second placed Swindon side. Posh remain in seventh, just outside of the play-off places, but it's not a very healthy seventh. Aaron Maclean must wonder what he's walked into? Ferguson never has been able to build a decent defence and the chocolate one he has at the moment is certainly no different. Previously he has had quality elsewhere on the pitch to compensate, in the old Manchester United fashion that we will score more goals than you anyway. However, despite thinking that he has got a decent squad, what he has in fact got is large squad of average players who are slow thinking, negative and unable to score (probably not helped by fuzzy thinking management who seem devoid of ideas and motivational skills). Apart from that, terrific, as the bloke said on the radio after they lost their last home league match against Scunthorpe:
Peterborough United
27 Alnwick 02 Smith 22 Almeida Santos 21 Burgess 03 Ntlhe 19 Mendez-Laing (James - 72' ) 08 Payne (Anderson - 50' ) 06 Bostwick 17 Newell 12 Vassell (Washington - 72' ) 20 McLean
Substitutes
09 James 10 Oztumer 11 McCann 14 Washington 15 Anderson 25 Zakuani 32 Henry

And the Swindon press agrees (but not written by the local speedway journo at swindonlinksport.com)2. Peterborough. Wow, what was that?Posh have a habit of being near the promotion battles in any given League One season. They’re veterans of the play-offs and have an uncanny knack of picking up the kind of players that can keep them in the hunt for a 12-month period before they’re flogged to top-10 Championship clubs for a barrel load of cash. Not this edition. Not on this showing. Peterborough, minus talisman Marcus Maddison, were lifeless, gormless and utterly unimpressive. London Road has been a horrible place to go for Swindon Town down the years but the aura evaporated within 15 minutes. They were scythed open by simple passes across midfield, their players leaving Swindon’s creative hub with the time and space to concoct experiments and note their findings before they were challenged for possession. They were toothless up front – the returning saviour Aaron Mclean offering plenty of work but little end product – and, in the middle of defence, Darren Ferguson appears to be plugging a gaping hole in the Hoover Dam with Playdough and wetted paper in the shape of Christian Burgess and Ricardo Santos.Every time I’ve covered Town at Posh, it’s never, ever appeared likely that Swindon could saunter to victory. Never. Ever. Until today. It was just so easy. So easy, in fact, that Town could afford to play the last 25 minutes while scratching their bums and thinking about where they’d watch Super Sunday. That’s not the Peterborough we’ve all come to fear. Their chairman suggested that himself on Twitter post-match.
At least it's not the fans being negative. Ferguson's Posh are officially crap at the moment! Those disgruntled fans shouting from the stand are all reading from the same hymn sheet. If they can see what's wrong match after match then why the bloody hell can't the management
