From the Swindon report:
"Mclean. The returning Posh hero was quiet, but lasted 90 minutes which can only be a good thihg for the future as this was his first outing for over a month. His man-of-the-match prize from the sponsors was surely a sentimental decision, although it was obvious that he takes up better scoring positions than many other Posh forwards - sadly this is largely an irrelevance until quality and vision arrive, probably on loan from somewhere ahead of Thursday’s (November 27) loan transfer deadline."
So it doesn't get any easier for Ferguson's side as the league leaders roll into town. We can only hope that the widespread criticism received after their last home defeat on Saturday is still ringing in the ears and we get a severe reaction from the Posh management and players.Hopefully we will get some quality and vision arriving before this match as indicated in the above paragraph from Peterborough Today. If not, we can only hope that Ferguson reminds his players that the idea is not to let the opposition score (especially not before Posh do) but it is to attack with pace towards the opponents goal and hopefully stick the ball in the onion bag! This means that Alnwick doesn't hold onto the ball for 10 seconds before rolling it to one of our ineffective centre backs who pass it sideways for a couple of minutes amongst the defence before it returns back at Alnwick. This nicely allows the opposing team to retreat towards their own goal and get in position to repel whatever weak attack Posh don't throw at them.
My money would be on Posh getting a result here in front of the Sky cameras. If that doesn't happen and it's another poor display then one can only assume that the players are not playing for Ferguson who seems to have a run out of ideas and motivational skills?
