Oh, I don't hold with this new fangle doctoring. Any problems, I go to the Wise woman!Swedish star Andreas Jonsson insists he’s trying everything to be fit for Saturday’s Stockholm SGP, including eating eggshells. The Stockholm-born man suffered a broken collarbone, ribs and thumb in a Swedish Elitserien meeting for Rospiggarna on September 6. AJ is set to practice at his Swedish home track Hallstavik on Thursday, when he will assess his fitness and decide whether or not to take part in Friday’s practice session and Saturday’s meeting at the Friends Arena. If AJ does miss out, it won’t be due to lack of effort. Having sought advice on his rehab from far and wide, he’s trying everything possible to be fit for the Stockholm showdown. And the 36-year-old revealed he’s even eating eggshellsin a bid to promote bone growth. He said: “I have contact with a lot of different rehab centres. I’ve been talking to probably 10 of them. Most of them say the same stuff, but some of them said a few different things. So we’re trying to cover everything and one of them gave me the advice to eat eggshells. “I didn’t think it could do any harm, so I thought I had better try it. You need to crush them; otherwise they’re not very nice! “I’m working hard every day from the morning to the evening on my rehabilitation and it’s going to be on the edge if I ride on Saturday or not. “I’m going to do everything to ride there. I have a lot of sponsors and friends coming. The Stockholm SGP is one I really look forward to riding in because it’s on home ground. It really is a special one and I would like to be a part of it. Just to be there would be a fantastic achievement.” Jonsson is currently 14th in the World Championship on 39 points, putting him a massive 31 short of the top-eight automatic qualifying places for 2017. But he’s still determined to at least push his case for a permanent wild card pick, and AJ is keen to give himself every possible chance to race in his home event. He said: “I’m going to try and sit on the bike on Thursday evening to see if it is possible to ride. “If it feels okay on Thursday, then I will try the practice on Friday. But if I feel it is not going to work out, I’ll make that decision on Thursday evening. “Tomorrow evening is two weeks since it happened, so for sure the bones haven’t healed. I am feeling better. I have a lot of movement, but as soon as I do something heavy, it hurts really badly “If you think about the track in Stockholm, it’s a tight one, which could be difficult. But we’ll see how it goes. I’m going to have a skid at Hallstavik. It’s a small track, and if that feels okay, I’ll give it a try on Friday.” SGP

Well here we are 3 meetings on from this quote and little has changed as far as tattoo and grin are concerned with 11 points still the difference between them after round 9: Well that takes us past half way and it may have been the meeting that settled the title? Hancock will always nip out of the start with consistent regularity and, despite the odd lemon, is always fast and a threat. Woffinden misses too many starts, gets himself in bad positions and just doesn't look quick enough. Whether that changes in the last 5 meetings I don't know but 12 points is a big lead to concede. The only thing worse than conceding 12 points at this stage is seeing Nicki Pedersen on your inside coming off the bend. Another decent GP: #108. Tai Woffinden (GB) - 0, 3, 2, 1, 2 = 8 #45. Greg Hancock (USA) - 3, 2, 1, 2, 3 = 11 + 3 + 3 = 17#3. Nicki Pedersen (Den) - 1, X, 2, 3, 0 = 6 #88. Niels-Kristian Iversen (Den) - 0, 1, 3, 1, 3 = 8 + 0 = 8 #69. The problem for tattoo and grin of course is that we're two meetings on from this and Doyle has won those as well to head the 2016 SGP pack. With only Torun and Melbourne to go he must be in with a great shout if he can handle the pressure of now having one hand on the trophy? As a good servant to British Speedway who should be here for the next couple of years (not the EoES of course unless I win the Lottery), I hope that he can hang on: Doyle puts himself in serious contention for the title as Hancock stutters and unconvincing Woffinden still collects a decent score to make the rostrum. Good night for Pedersen who finds some speed and put himself in touch with the top 8. There isn’t much glucosamine in the normal diet, so if you want to increase your intake, supplements are the only answer. They are mostly made from animal tissue, usually the shells of crab, lobster or shrimp. Some is made from fungal fermentation of corn. When taken as a supplement almost 90% of glucosamine is absorbed from the gut. The liver rapidly breaks down any not used in the cartilage repair process. Actions of glucosamineIt is used mainly to combat the symptoms of painful joints and osteoarthritis. The basis of glucosamine’s action is that it provides more of the building blocks to repair cartilage. It keeps more moisture in, reduces inflammation, and may inhibit the enzymes involved in cartilage breakdown. Glucosamine can therefore prevent cartilage destruction.
However, note of warning which does not constitute medical advice in any way whatsoever. Big girls and boys make their own decisions: No one really knows what causes Dupuytren’s contracture. However, several factors have been identified that make the condition more likely - You are taking Glucosamine or Chrondroitin supplements.
As with any supplemets, think about why you are taking them and whether you really need to/should be Here endeth today's lesson And on a lighter note, well done Harry Hurricane/Jim Crowley yesterday, got 8/1 in the morning which was better than the 5/1 it triumped at
