BELLE VUE’S Premiership Class of 2021 is now complete after the club confirmed GB international Dan Bewley and Jye Etheridge as the final two members of their team.
They join Brady Kurtz, Charles Wright, Steve Worrall, Richie Worrall and Tom Brennan at the National Speedway Stadium for the highly anticipated upcoming Speedway season.
The pair were part of the original 2020 septet which never got to turn a wheel together in Manchester, but both are keen to make up for lost time in the coming months.
Fan favourite Bewley is anticipating a big year for Belle Vue and is tipping his side to be one of the big players for the Premiership title.
He said: “I’m delighted to be back with the club for this season. It feels like nearly two years have passed since we last saw league racing in the UK.
“It’s great that most of the lads from last year are back as well. I’ve ridden with most of them before, but we never got the chance to get going as a team.
“Belle Vue was lucky enough to be one of the few to host meetings in 2020 but it was so weird not having any fans there to watch us.
“Hopefully, with the latest government announcements, we can look forward to getting back to normal and getting the crowds back in the stadium.”
25-year-old Etheridge is looking forward to making his full-time return to the BikeRight Aces after impressing club bosses in the late 2019 season.
He said: “I’m glad to have another opportunity with Belle Vue this year. I like to be kept busy during the season and, hopefully, with Berwick as well, that will be the case for me.
“I think most of the boys are just eager to get started again. We’ve had to adapt to the situation these last 12 months but I’ve really missed my racing.
“Lemo has put together a really interesting team. I think we will see a lot of friendly competition amongst the lads for the top spots, and that can only help our goals for the year.”
