Well it appears that they have some land and Fengate is close to me so if anything is going on I should be able to keep an eye on it. There's a long way from field to a professional speedway operation so can't see that happening in less than 12 months. Therefore, unless we somehow get a grace period at the EoES we'll either have a year or two out and then do a Swindon or try to fulfil our fixture at another track. That wouldn't work either?

As predicted, although the rumour was that they had some land?In terms of the future, as things stand at present, very sadly this will be our last year. We have a contract with the Showground until the end of October, and at this stage it is highly unlikely that this will be renewed. We have spoken to several people regarding the potential for a new site, but the club would need significant help with that as it would essentially involve building a new stadium. - (therefore was never going to happen)Our intention is to carry on fighting for as long as possible to keep Peterborough Speedway in Peterborough, but as it stands now, the speedway will cease in October.

Mick Bratley just gave an excellent interview on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire, talking about what the club means to him (as a 50 year fan which included his promotional tenure with the unforgettable 2006 (although not mentioned)), what the situation currently is as we all know it, and what could/should be the final outcome? Basically that means incorporating Peterborough Speedway in any new development or relocation at the expense of AEPG or their masters as detailed in LP 30 (amusingly PCC were reported not to be aware of the protection order in their own plan )

As Speedway is only a tenant at EOES seems to me they can kick us out at any time.

As Speedway is only a tenant at EOES seems to me they can kick us out at any time. Yes you would have thought so but as we've been there for over 50 years (without any particular issues) and it's known as the home of Peterborough Speedway, so therefore a city facility and not just a show or annual event, I'm not sure that the it can be summed up in such simple terms. You may be right, time will tell?

As Speedway is only a tenant at EOES seems to me they can kick us out at any time. I think a lot will depend on how the recent AEPG planning application is received by the council, I think their is a lot resting on this but I am not holding my breath.

I wanted to respond to this but can't really argue against it :

I think a lot will depend on how the recent AEPG planning application is received by the council, I think their is a lot resting on this but I am not holding my breath. More important is when it appears in the public domain so that we all get to look at it? Given that we're history in 16 weeks, someone needs to start showing their hand and rattling a few cages. If Tomalin is interested (and I'm not convinced, even if his no1 fan on the BSF is) then it'd help to show some public intent and put some pressure on the club's owner to signal his intent. If Panthers owner is not in for the long term, and we know that he's not, then it's not a good look if he takes the club down without a fight? He may not, and probably doesn't, particularly care but he'll get off scot free unless someone starts doing something?

I think a lot will depend on how the recent AEPG planning application is received by the council, I think their is a lot resting on this but I am not holding my breath. And with good reason perhaps. My local councillor was canvassing today and I asked when we'd be able to see the AEPG/EoES plans (he said that they'd be on PCC website, but I told him that they are not) and what was the process going forward? Worryingly, initially he said that they'd go through on the nod. I pointed out that the AEPG application needs to agree to the local plan (specifically LP30 IMO?), to which he said that if we didn't think that the application met all requirements then representation needs to be made to the local councillors.

Anyone who hasn't given up on Panthers should read both these articles. The similarities in all respects are very noticeable.
