In SGP mode this week although the thought of watching Bunyan and the GP Challenge also rans does somewhat take the sting out of the meeting
Russian racer Emil Sayfutdinov heads for Auckland on a massive high after winning the prestigious Alfred Smoczyk Memorial meeting at Leszno on Saturday. The Grand Prix star defeated Leszno’s world No.3 Jaroslaw Hampel, Polish international Piotr Protasiewicz and World Under-21 champion Maciej Janowski in a run-off. This was after all four men ended their five heats on 12 points. Three-time world champion Nicki Pedersen’s promising form continued as he bagged 11 points, while his compatriot and SGP rival Bjarne Pedersen scored seven. The Grand Prix’s finest will now head for London and Copenhagen to catch their flights to Auckland for the FIM Buckley Systems New Zealand SGP on Sunday night. They face a marathon 27-hour journey via Dubai and Melbourne before landing in NZ on Tuesday afternoon local time. sgp img www.mirror.co.uk/incoming/article89101.ece/ALTERNATES/s615/sayfutdinov-590965800.jpg

I'll give it a go if you vote. I'll vote so that'll be two of us at least, not a great cross section but at least we made the effort With Ecclestone wanting the Australian F1 GP to be a night race so European punters can watch at a more sensible time, I thought that the NZ GP would fall during the day, clearly not

Has someone told our number 1 this is the EL play off's? Beaten by Bunyan jeez. What are you on about? I see! Can't say that I'm too bothered what he does in the SGP; but even with a long way to go in the series then that sets the tone and it looks like top 8 is the objective rather than 1, 2, 3. To be fair though that applies for most of the field every season: 1. Kenneth Bjerre (Denmark) - 2, 2, EF, EF, 0 = 4 2. Hans Andersen (Denmark) - 0, 1, 1, 1, 3 = 6 3. Tomasz Gollob (Poland) - 3, 3, 3, 2, 3 = 14 + 1 = 15 4. Emil Sayfutdinov (Russia) - 1, 2, 3, X, 2 = 8 + 0 = 8 5. Andreas Jonsson(Sweden) - 3, 0, 0, 1, EF = 4 6. Nicki Pedersen (Denmark) - 1, 3, 2, 2, 1 = 9 + 2 + 2 = 13 - THIRD7. Bjarne Pedersen (Denmark) - 2, 0, 1, 3, 1 = 7 8. Jason Bunyan (NZ) - 0, 0, 0, 0, 1 = 1 9. Fredrik Lindgren (Sweden) - 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 = 8 + 0 = 8 10. Antonio Lindback (Sweden) - 3, 2, 2, 3, 2 = 12 + 1 = 13 11. Jaroslaw Hampel (Poland) - 1, 1, 3, 3, 3 = 11 + 3 + 4 = 18 - SECOND12. Peter Ljung (Sweden) - 0, 1, 2, 1, 0 = 4 13. Jason Crump (Australia) - 2, 3, 0, 2, 2 = 9 + 3 + 0 = 12 14. Chris Harris (GB) - 1, 0, 1, 2, 1 = 5 15. Greg Hancock (USA) - 3, 2, 3, 3, 3 = 14 + 2 + 6 = 22 - WINNER 16. Chris Holder (Australia) - 0, 3, 1, 0, 0 = 4 speedwayupdates.proboards
