I didn't think the track was as good as it could have been and certainly wouldnt rave about it like some of the Lynn fans. Most of us can count the number of bends on the fingers of one hand but those extra two bends needed at the Norfolk Arena do add to the excitement

Linus Sundstrom @linussundstromBoring meeting from målilla, boring to book flights too! Ryanair needs to sort their website out.. Neil Middleditch @middlo57rubbish!!!!!really thought we could win tonight, #notahappycamper Danny King @dannykingracingWhat a terrible meeting for me. Not sure what happened couldnt get bikes going. Think we may have a problem with them. We will keep trying. Never has been and never will be consistently good enough at this level.
Paul Burbidge @paul_BurbidgeTeam GB carried too many passengers. But @woffinden108 really made his mark in Malilla. Dackarna won't let him sit at home on Tuesdays. We always look like that but where is the next generation? Can't see any Nicholls and Harris on the downward slope, King, Kennett, Barker etc never going to be good enough and Woffinden still far too inconsistent but the best we have, which doesn't say much

It was good to see Buzz and MJJ going well, will be interesting to see them doing the same at Belle Vue Monday.

No-one can be surprised.
Until the BSPA limit foreign riders in the Elite League to something like 4 per team, maybe reducing to 3 in time (which will probably take 10 years or so) and weaken the EL and PL in the process, we will never get stronger as a nation.
This is years of damage coming together at once and we have to face facts that we should be having regular test matches with the likes of the Czech Republic and Russia (rather than Australia) regardless of crowd levels as an investment in British riders for the future.
We have quality kids coming through like Robert Lambert, Nathan Greaves, Max Clegg, Reade - then a bit older guys like Howarth, the Worralls, Birks, Perry, Garrity, Cook, Lawson etc then these riders stagnate every time because British Promoters go for the lesser foreigners as cheap choices - the likes of Sowka, Piszcz, Ksiezak, Jakobsen, Dilger, Sitera, Franchetti et al.
It may be that the EL & PL cannot restrict who can ride here under EU working rules but wasn't a precedent set with in Poland where they restricted GP rider inclusion within their teams for 2012??
Its not all about the training of these kids at the very junior level, as we have that in place although maybe not as widespread like they have in Denmark, Australia and Poland. What we dont have is enough investment in rider coaches, more basic training tracks with the BSPA supporting them financially, and then the gap bridging between the U15 series, and NL/PL progression.
The parallels between the state of speedway and football in this country are scarey at times.
I'd much rather see a weakened top two tier league product in the short term cutting costs in the right areas to re-invest where needed, thus meaning a stronger British base of riders in years to come, feeding Team GB, feeding the SGP circus amd meaning we are not the laughing stock of the speedway world in the future.
If we are all kidding ourselves that it works then last night was a harsh reminder just as the England v Italy game was. Kennett, King, Wright, Bridger, Allen, Stead, Mear would all be far better riders if they had come through the system in Poland, Denmark or Sweden.
We need to realise that British Speedway is failing these guys at the time in their careers when they need it, not the riders failing British Speedway anymore.

You want to weaken the EL further? Who will pay to come and watch it? This is years of damage coming together at once and we have to face facts that we should be having regular test matches with the likes of the Czech Republic and Russia (rather than Australia) regardless of crowd levels as an investment in British riders for the future. Who wil pay for that? The money fairies? We have quality kids coming through like Robert Lambert, Nathan Greaves, Max Clegg, Reade - then a bit older guys like Howarth, the Worralls, Birks, Perry, Garrity, Cook, Lawson etc then these riders stagnate every time because British Promoters go for the lesser foreigners as cheap choices - the likes of Sowka, Piszcz, Ksiezak, Jakobsen, Dilger, Sitera, Franchetti et al. Maybe the British riders should align their financial expectations to that of the foreigners then? Its not all about the training of these kids at the very junior level, as we have that in place although maybe not as widespread like they have in Denmark, Australia and Poland. What we dont have is enough investment in rider coaches, more basic training tracks with the BSPA supporting them financially, and then the gap bridging between the U15 series, and NL/PL progression. I suppose you think the BSPA sits upon mountains of cash? I don't think they do. Most promoters appear to be losing money, especuially at EL level, so where's the money supposed to come from? I'd much rather see a weakened top two tier league product in the short term cutting costs in the right areas to re-invest where needed, thus meaning a stronger British base of riders in years to come, feeding Team GB, feeding the SGP circus amd meaning we are not the laughing stock of the speedway world in the future. But isn't that exactly what the BSPA have been trying to do for the last xx years and yet clubs are still losing money. To blame everything on the BSPA, no matter how useless they are, is misguided in my opinion. The sport has been in decline for years and only SKY TV has stopped it from virtual extinction.

We need to realise that British Speedway is failing these guys at the time in their careers when they need it, not the riders failing British Speedway anymore. Not so sure they are cheap choices, when you factor in flights, accomodation, vans and mechanics, some want a weekly allowance and then you have to ensure they have good equipment, I think the biggest factor regarding foreign riders is that you can get a rider who will score you some good points because he starts on a bargain starting average. Sundstrom started with the Panthers on 6.18 because of the 60% conversion from the PL, this conversion seriously affects British riders, compare that with MJJ who started on a 5.00 and then we have the Poole facility which starts all their bargains on 4.00. Its that loophole that needs closing, the sooner the better.

Well I will now and it's going on the Aussies. Sweden are the threat but they have two Davy Watts and it depends which THJ and Ljung turn up

I could put it on 14/1 Panthers who are equal fourth favourites with our 6 fingered cousins in the two horse EL title race.

The two races from the end when Pedersen shut off to allow Crump thro and then the utter farce when two shut off together turned this meeting into a complete joke and must have caused acute embarassment all round, hopefully it could spell the end of the Joker or joke ruling.

Some would say banking is a kind of sport these days?
