I saw a tweet today which lists the Danish team as Nicki Pedersen, Niels K Iversen, Leon Madsen and Michael Jepsen Jensen, it could be interesting if or when it's confirmed but I did hear a while ago that the Danish team would include some young riders this year.

I would have thought that Sky would have advertised the SWC on last nights live EL broadcast of Lakeside v Swindon. Missed opportunity I reckon. ;D

Starts today if anyone is interested Sat 7, World Cup Round 1, Sky Sports 2 from Bydgoszcz, Poland (or Peterborough as it's called down our way) Looks reasonably interesting I suppose as a meeting on it's own (although it's far too long) but can't say that I give a stuff about the competition overall, every 2 or 3 years is plenty enough Peterborough1. Tomasz Gollob (c) 2. Grzegorz Walasek 3. Piotr Protasiewicz 4. Maciej Janowski Denmark1. Niels Kristian Iversen (c)2. Leon Madsen 3. Michael Jepsen Jensen4. Mikkel B Jensen Russia1. Emil Sayfutdinov 2. Grigory Laguta 3. Artem Laguta 4. Roman Povazhny (c) USA1. Greg Hancock (c) 2. Billy Hamill 3. Ryan Fisher 4. Ricky Wells

tempted to have a 50 on russia tonight at 6s and a 50 0n the mad russkie to be top pts scorer in the meeting at 5s I can't get my head round getting up for work every day and then giving to the bookies? Don't get me wrong, I do like a bet but anything between £5 & £10 brings me out in a sweat Think that a £1 e/w on the 4 Poles for top scorer will bring a profit

Thankully only 20 heats for this so that's a bonus! Even money that Crump congatulates Mark Webber when interviewed. Will the Sky team ask whether GB (have they dropped the team ) can win the SWC G. Britain1. Chris Harris (c) 2. Scott Nicholls 3. Tai Woffinden 4. Daniel King Australia1. Jason Crump (c) 2. Chris Holder 3. Troy Batchelor 4. Davey Watt Czech Rep.1. Lukas Dryml 2. Ales Dryml (c) 3. “The tournament has become one of the most hotly-anticipated events on the sport’s global calendar” ;D Certainly captures the imagination. Can't see anything in the D.Mirror today and in the sports shorts (where the speedway usually appears) we have BSB, womens cricket and last but not least Dressage - all roads lead to Saddlebow Road!

I wouldn't watch it if it was on in my back garden.

I wouldn't watch it if it was on in my back garden. It's ok but doesn't require the frequency, big sell, quotes everytime anyone wins an EL heat asking whether that'll put them in a world cup team, and last but not least, ever asking (until some quality new blood appears from somewhere) whether GB or whatever we're called can win the SWC when our best bloke is struggling to make up the SGP numbers.

Some good racing but is it a good meeting? Four teams but apart from a few races then each heat is basically a match race!

I am somewhat surprised at the negativity towards the world cup, I have been to many meetings held in this country and find they always contain some of the best racing of the season. Was at Lynn last night and thought that it was no exception - cheaper than EL as well!!

Was at Lynn last night and thought that it was no exception - cheaper than EL as well!! Thought it came over very well on TV with some really good races especially towards the end. I didnt think the track was as good as it could have been and certainly wouldnt rave about it like some of the Lynn fans on the SWC thread but overall a good meeting, lets hope the Race Off lives up to the hype. Sincerly hope they sack the Polish Ref who was hopeless.
