WOLVERHAMPTON skipper Peter Karlsson paid tribute to the fans after their 57-36 WM Trophy win over Birmingham at Monmore.
The Parrys International Wolves gave a solid all-round display in front of a bumper crowd at Monmore to secure a 108-80 aggregate win.
Karlsson was good value for a stunning 15-point maximum on his return to the club after a year out on loan to Belle Vue.
He said: “The welcome back from the fans has been amazing and I will be thinking about that for a long time.
“We still have a lot of things to work on as a team but this is a good start for us and we have to be pleased with the result.
“Everyone has to deal with the new silencers and luckily I have found a set-up which is good for me, but there is still a lot to do in the workshop!”
Grand Prix star Freddie Lindgren was also good value for his unbeaten 10+2 score from four outings.
WOLVERHAMPTON: Peter Karlsson 15, Tai Woffinden 12+2, Freddie Lindgren 10+2, Ludvig Lingren 8+1, Ty Proctor 6+2, Ricky Wells 4, Tyson Burmeister 2+2.
BIRMINGHAM: Ales Dryml 10+2, Danny King 7, Kevin Wolbert 7, Krzysztof Kasprzak 5, Rene Bach 3+1, Daniel Nermark 2, Theo Pijper 2.

WOLVES 42 POOLE 51
WOLVERHAMPTON’S proud unbeaten home record is over after a 51-42 defeat by title favourites Poole on Monday.
Peter Adams’ men hadn’t been beaten on home shale in the Elite League since September 2008 but the Pirates were the better all-round side and Adams offered no excuses.
He said: “There was a lot of talk about the track but it’s the same for both sides and Poole deserved their win. We’re not offering any excuses as it was the same for both sides.
“And I would remind everyone not to get carried away, it’s a very early stage of a long season.”
Skipper Peter Karlsson provided some of the best entertainment on the night and won a tactical ride for six-points.
But Poole, with Swedish sensation Dennis Andersson at reserve, had far too much strength throughout their line-up for the Parrys International Wolves.
Freddie Lindgren was controversially excluded at an important stage of the meeting but this can take nothing away from a fine Poole performance.
The side meet again in Dorset on Wednesday but this time in the first leg of the Elite Shield.
WOLVERHAMPTON 42: Peter Karlsson 13+1, Freddie Lindgren 8+1, Tai Woffinden 8+1, Ludvig Lindgren 5, Ty Proctor 4+2, Tyson Burmeister 2, Ricky Wells 2.
POOLE 51: Chris Holder 14, Dennis Andersson 11+1, Jason Doyle 9+1, Davey Watt 9+1, Christian Hefenbrock 5+3, Renat Gafurov 3, Darcy Ward R/R.

Well to be fair it was always likely to happen at some stage and for all those saying it was the fault of the crap reserves I will say 5 heat winners all night from the likes of Freddie, Woffy and PK.
Reserves win matches and with Poole having a Swedish Heat Leader New assessed foreigner on a ridiculous assessed average this was always going to happen.

WOLVES 48 SWINDON 42
WOLVERHAMPTON pulled off a hard fought 48-42 win over Swindon for their first Elite League win of the season on Monday.
The Monmore men had to come back from an early deficit to claim two league points, but Swindon claimed a consolation point for keeping the scores within six.
Once again the Parrys International Wolves had to rely heavily on their top three riders to see them home. Freddie Lindgren (13), Peter Karlsson (11+1) and Tai Woffinden (11) won nine of the 15 races between them on a track made tricky thanks to heavy rain.
Boss Peter Adams said: “I have mixed feelings about this, obviously it’s nice to have won the meeting but disappointing not to have claimed all three points.
“But hopefully we will be able to build on this when we face Eastbourne, who are such a good side these days, at home next Monday.”
Former Grand Prix star Scott Nicholls was the top man for Swindon with a string of impressive rides in his 13-point haul, including valuable wins over Lindgren and Karlsson late in the meeting.
Heavy rain made conditions difficult but thankfully the teams were able to see the meeting through to the full distance.
WOLVERHAMPTON 48: Freddie Lindgren 13, Peter Karlsson 11+2, Tai Woffinden 11, Ty Proctor 4, Ricky Wells 4, Ludvig Lindgren 3+2, Tyson Burmeister 2.
SWINDON 42: Scott Nicholls 13, Tomasz Chrzanowski 8+1, Maciej Janowski 6+1, Simon Stead 5+1, Cory Gathercole 5+1, Justin Sedgmen 5, Grzegorz Zengota R/R

WOLVES 46 EASTBOURNE 44
WOLVERHAMPTON pulled off a stunning last gasp maximum to beat table-topping Eastbourne Eagles 46-44 in an Elite League thriller at Monmore on Monday.
Freddie Lindgren and Peter Karlsson, who both scored 12-points, were the last heat heroes for the Parrys International Wolves as they gained a maximum to overturn a 43-41 deficit.
The narrow win handed the Monmore men two league points and Eastbourne gained a consolation point from their first league defeat of the season.
Not only were the scores close throughout the night, but there was some spectacular action for the fans and the Sky Sports viewers to enjoy throughout the night.
Visiting ace Bjarne Pedersen kept Karlsson and Lindgren at bay with the ride of the season in Heat 13 and when the Eagles shared the penultimate race it put pressure on Wolves knowing nothing less than a 5-1 would do – and they duly responded! Skipper Karlsson said: “That must have been a great meeting to watch but it was very tense to ride in.
“There was a lot of pressure in the last race but thankfully Freddie and me were able to do the business. It’s nice for the fans and we are really pleased with the result. Credit to Eastbourne, they are a great team.”
WOLVERHAMPTON 46: Freddie Lindgren 12+2, Peter Karlsson 12+1, Tai Woffinden 11, Ty Proctor 7+1, Ludvig Lindgren 2, Ricky Wells 2, Tyson Burmeister 0.
EASTBOURNE 44: Bjarne Pedersen 12, Lewis Bridger 9+2, Cameron Woodward 6+1, Simon Gustafsson 5+2, Lukas Dryml 5, Joonas Kylmakorpi 5, Taylor Poole 2+1.

WOFFINDEN HURT
TALENTED British youngster Tai Woffinden has been ruled out of Wolverhampton's Elite League clash with Belle Vue at Monmore tonight with a broken collarbone.
Woffinden fell when riding his BMX bike on Easter Monday and is expected to be out for three weeks.
Parrys International Wolves will use the rider replacement facility and Woffinden's four programmed rides can be shared amongst all his colleagues.
The action starts at 7.30 and another night of superb entertainment is in prospect.
WOLVES V BELLE VUE - TUESDAY, PREVIEW
WOLVERHAMPTON aim to get back to winning ways when they face Belle Vue in a mouthwatering Elite League clash at Monmore Green on Tuesday (7.30).
It’s a rare switch from their regular Monday racenight as there was a full programme of Polish League racing on Monday which ruled out any Elite League action.
A bumper crowd is expected for the visit of the Aces who beat Wolves 47-43 in Manchester on Good Friday.
It’s a chance for revenge for the Monmore men who claimed a point from that meeting but they are now looking for a maximum return on home shale.
Swedish star Freddie Lindgren has paid tribute to the travelling fans who went to Belle Vue.
He said: “It was great to see so many Wolves fans there. Thanks to all of them, it was a shame we couldn’t quite win.
“Hopefully we can beat them on Tuesday when we are back on our own track.”
Belle Vue have revamped their side this season with British champion and Grand Prix star Chris Harris a high profile signing from reigning champions Coventry and Australian ace Rory Schlein has also made the switch from Brandon.
WOLVERHAMPTON: Freddie Lindgren, Ty Proctor, Ludvig Lindgren, r/r, Peter Karlsson, Tyson Burmeister, Ricky Wells.
BELLE VUE: Chris Harris, Ricky Kling, Charlie Gjedde, Patrick Hougaard, Rory Schlein, Dawid Stachyra, Kozza Smith.

Hes not the first and wont be the last to get a non-competitive injury. Given the investment that clubs put into riders surely they should be dictating what they can do or cant do off the track?

WOLVES 56 BELLE VUE 36
DEPLETED Wolves displayed great character to stun Belle Vue Aces with a 56-36 Elite League win at Monmore on Tuesday.
Talented British star Tai Woffinden was ruled out of the meeting with a broken collarbone after a freak BMX crash on Monday but the Parrys International Wolves covered for him superbly.
Freddie Lindgren continued his preparations for this weekend’s opening Grand Prix of the season with a sensational 18-point maximum and brother Ludvig gave his best performance of the season.
Reserves Ricky Wells and Tyson Burmeister also showed improvement with the latter notching his first paid win in his career.
Said Freddie Lindgren: “I’m really pleased with this, I faced Chris Harris four times tonight and had the better of him every time which is great.
“It’s a great way for me to build towards the Grand Prix on Saturday but it’s a really good effort from the team as well.
“It’s so nice to see all the boys scoring points, it’s a nice feeling. When we lost Woffy I knew it would be tough, but we did a great job.”

WOLVES 53 LAKESIDE 42PETER Karlsson rolled back the years with a stunning six-ride 18-point maximum as Wolverhampton claimed all three Elite League points from a 53-42 win over Lakeside on Monday. Karksson, 41, has made a successful return to the Parrys International Wolves side after a season out on loan and he inspired his side to a valuable result. But perhaps the most remarkable performance was that of American newcomer Tyson Burmeister who put personal tragedy to one side by racing in the meeting just hours after learning his father had taken his own life. It was a hard fought win for Peter Adams’ men with some breathtaking racing providing the fans with some sensational action. Club owner Chris Van Straaten said: “One can only marvel at the courage of Tyson for what he has been through to ride for us tonight. “And what can we say about PK? He was just awesome. We also covered for the absence of Tai Woffinden by taking maximum points from his four programmed rides.” WOLVERHAMPTON 53: Peter Karlsson 18, Freddie Lindgren 14+2, Ty Proctor 9+1, Ludvig Lindgren 8, Tyson Burmiester 2+1, Richard Lawson 2, Tai Woffinden R/R. ROBINS charger Scott Nicholls stunned defending champion Chris Harris and home favourite Tai Woffinden to grab his sixth national title last night. The 33-year-old won a nerve-jangling showdown with the talented pair at the British final at Wolverhampton after Edward Kennett had earlier been excluded. That means that Nicholls now receives a wild card for the British Grand Prix in Cardiff at the end of this month, while Woffinden and Kennett get reserve slots for that meeting. Harris is exempt as he already competes on the GP circuit so will be riding anyway. It was not a triumph that had looked nailed on from the outset, as Woffinden qualified for the four-man run-off with ease in the first 20 heats. The youngster, who was given a wild card to the British final due to being injured for the semis, reeled off five flawless rides to book himself a spot in the last four. Meanwhile, Harris slipped up in just one of his five races, finishing third behind national under 21 champion Woffinden and ex-Robin Jordan Frampton in heat 13, but was otherwise unbeaten until the final. For Nicholls’ part, three race wins and two second places was his record in the 20 qualifying heats, putting him level on 13 points with Harris. However, the Truro-born rider went through to the final with his superior race-winning record and head-to-head victory over Nicholls making that justifiable. In the semi, Nicholls was grouped with Kennett, Lee Richardson and Ben Barker and he did enough to finish second behind the Coventry rider. An action-packed final saw all four riders fall at the first bend, only for Kennett to be excluded from the re-run after taking out Woffinden. In the second re-run Harris took the lead out of the gate but Nicholls was right on his tail and passed his rival on the back straight of lap two, before holding on to take the title. Nicholls’ Swindon team manager Ronnie Russell was delighted to see his number one crowned national champion. Russell said: “He’s quite elated about the whole thing. I said to him beforehand that Swindon, me and him desperately needed this title and he certainly showed some grit tonight. “Quite a few of the Swindon public have come out tonight and they have gone home happy.” swindonadver

I got back at heat 16 and watched bits and bobs but I'm glad that I wasn't there. Despite the crashes they didn't exactly get a shift on especially after heat 20 when the YTS let the fireworks off thinking that it was the end? Funniest quotes "We should have a Grand Prix here" and "What a line-up we've got" for the final! Well if that's the best we've got then please shut up about the SWC! Bennett, Webster, Pearson et al all bigging it up on Twitter as a great advert for British Speedway so we must be the minority, which indeed we seem to be? Or more like realists often seem to be the minority

WOLVES 48 COVENTRY 42
WOLVERHAMPTON edged out reigning champions Coventry 48-42 in an Elite League thriller at Monmore on Monday. The Parrys International Wolves were pushed all the way by their neighbours on a night of good racing and a close scoreline which saw the home side claim two league points and Coventry one. Talented Polish youngster Przemyslaw Pawlicki was the last heat hero for the visitors as he beat home favourite Freddie Lindgren for a vital win and with Eddie Kennett third the 4-2 handed the Bees a point. That was the only point Lindgren dropped. He’d slipped past Emil Sayfutdinov in heat 1, exchanged passes with Kennett in a thrilling last lap of heat 6, and repeated the feat in heat 13, before grinding to a halt as he crossed the line. Wolverhampton Boss Peter Adams said: “I’m very pleased to claim the win against a full strength Coventry side because they are very powerful. “What particularly pleased me was the fact that our reserves, Ricky Wells and Tyson Burmeister, contributed 14+2 between them which was decisive. “But it was a tremendous match which could have gone either way and Coventry played their part and probably deserved a point.” wolvesweb
PRZEMYSLAW Pawlicki’s Heat 15 race win over Monmore ace Freddie Lindgren secured a useful away point for the Buildbase Bees at the end of a competitive local derby at Wolverhampton. With Pawlicki becoming the only rider on the night to defeat Lindgren and skipper Edward Kennett holding Peter Karlsson at bay for third place in tricky conditions as heavy rain fell, Bees got to within the margin required to take a point – and also limit Wolves to two. It was certainly a deserved point and without a number of items of misfortune Coventry may well have pulled off a dramatic away win. Pawlicki was ultra-impressive with three race wins despite a controversial mid-meeting disqualification when he was adjudged to have brought Ricky Wells down – and Kennett recovered well from a first ride crash to play his part in some thrilling racing, including two epic battles with Lindgren. Bees were also well served by recent signing Peter Kildemand, who adapted well to the Monmore Green circuit after his opening two rides to win two of his later outings and pick up an excellent paid double-figure score. Emil Sayfutdinov collected paid-six after some tough rides on his first appearance at Monmore, whilst Kenni Larsen was another to strike bad luck – being timed out of Heat 5 when he was on his way to the start-line. Bees dropped eight points down early on but brought themselves level with back-to-back 5-1s in Heats 7 and 8, before Pawlicki’s Heat 10 disqualification enabled Wolves to go clear again. The home side added 4-2s in Heats 11 and 13, and the final race of the night was run in heavy rain with the Bees making the start, Lindgren managing to split Pawlicki and Kennett but being unable to catch the flying Pole out-front. Bees co-boss Alun Rossiter said: “It’s a good point and there were some good positives and also some disappointments. I thought Ryan (Fisher) would have done better, but Shamek (Pawlicki) and Edward were excellent and Peter also got dialled-in really well. “I’m bitterly disappointed in the refereering tonight, though. For a referee to tell me that a rider under-power leaving the pits can’t get to the start-line in 30 seconds - it’s his watch that should tell him that, not his opinion. “On the one with Shamek, he was in front of Ricky Wells, and when the bike goes into the corner the back wheel kicks out. The guy was in front at the time, and they were two very, very poor decisions which did cost us.” beesweb

WOLVES 47 LAKESIDE 43
WOLVERHAMPTON star Freddie Lindgren is under observation in New Cross Hospital after a horrifying crash on Monday.
Lindgren, the hugely popular Swedish rider, crashed heavily in the first race of Wolverhampton's remarkable 47-43 win over Lakeside in the Elite League.
Parrys International Wolves boss Peter Adams went to see his rider immediately after the victory.
He said: "Freddie is in good spirits right now but doesn't know what day it is or who he is.
"He's taken a bad bang to the head and he is complaining of pains in his neck and back but has full movement which is good news.
"But they are keeping a close eye on his head injury and hopefully there will be some improvement which we can report on within the next 24-hours."
Lindgren's crash left Wolverhampton with a mountain to climb against an in-form Hammers side and with James Grieves struggling they were effectively reduced to five riders.
Skipper Peter Karlsson was at his best with 14 from five rides and he received fine support with reserve duo Ricky Wells and Tyson Burmeister enjoying a fine night.
Ty Proctor stepped up to the plate for the home side with arguably his best performance of the season, winning the re-run of Heat 1 and finishing with paid-ten.
Said Adams: "It was a fabulous win for us under the circumstances and I am very proud of the spirit shown by the team after seeing one of their team-mates crash so heavily. They can feel very proud of themselves."

WOLVES 45 POOLE 44
WOLVERHAMPTON pulled off a sensational 45-44 Elite League win over table-toppers Poole Pirates in front of the Sky Sports cameras at Monmore.
Peter Adams’ men gave a solid all-round team performance with skipper Peter Karlsson racing through the pain barrier to top score with 10+2.
And guest rider Niels Kristian Iversen, in for injured top rider Freddie Lindgren, was impressive with 9+2 from his five rides.
It took the Parrys International Wolves 10 races to take the lead with a 5-1 from Iversen and the impressive Ty Proctor .
But Poole bounced back with a maximum of their own in Heat 12 to go 36-35 up and it took a 4-2 from Ludvig Lindgren and Tai Woffinden in heat 14 to take a one-point lead into the deciding Heat 15.
World Under-21 champion Darcy Ward completed a brilliant 15-point maximum in the last race but with Iversen and Karlsson holding the minor places Wolves were home by a point.
Boss Peter Adams said: “This was a truly remarkable effort from the team and we are delighted with the win, especially as we were without our top rider Freddie Lindgren.
“It was a good, close meeting and I’m sure the fans enjoyed it. We are pleased with the two-points and Poole probably deserved their point too.”
WOLVERHAMPTON: Peter Karlsson 10+2, Niels Kristian Iversen 9+2, Ty Proctor 8+1, Ludvig Lindgren 7+2, Ricky Wells 5, Tai Woffinden 4+1, Tyson Burmeister 2+1.
POOLE: Darcy Ward 15, Jason Doyle 11+1, Davey Watt 8, Dennis Andersson 5, Chris Holder 4, Renat Gafurov 1, Christian Hefenbrock 0.
