OFFICIAL STATEMENT Wednesday November 09, 2011We have known Mick for a number of years on both a personal and a business level which made our due diligence for a suitable buyer a lot easier. We have found Mick to be an honest upfront business man who delivers exactly what has been agreed and has an in depth knowledge of the speedway world. beesweb Are there two Mick Horton's? Unbelieveable.

KENNETT BACK WITH BEES
Wednesday November 23, 2011 COVENTRY Speedway are pleased to confirm the return of Edward Kennett for the 2012 Elite League season.
Kennett will be going into his fourth campaign with the Buildbase Bees, having initially joined the club in a big-money transfer from Eastbourne.
His 2011 season came to an abrupt end with a Speedway Control Bureau-imposed suspension following a match at Lakeside in August, with Kennett embroiled in a row over silencers. Six months of his twelve-month penalty were themselves suspended, leaving him free to resume his career next season, and Kennett is determined to put those events firmly in the past.
He said: “I’ve paid the price for what happened and I’ve done my time, and I just want to move on now and concentrate on my racing.
“I stuck by Coventry last winter and the fans have really stuck by me. I got a huge reception when I went to the dinner-dance which certainly put a big smile on my face, and now I can crack on and hopefully put on some good performances next year.”
Kennett completes a power-packed all-British top three line-up for the Bees, returning to Brandon alongside Chris Harris and Scott Nicholls.
Co-promoters Mick Horton and Colin Pratt now have just under 17.5 points available with which to complete the team, and they have various permutations to consider.
Pratt said: “It’s good to have Edward back, we know how popular he is and what happened last season was a pity, but we all have to move on from that.
“It’s a very good-looking top three with Chris, Scott and Edward, and they are all British riders as well. Obviously we’ve got to make sure we consider carefully who to use lower down, and we are working hard on that.”
