"Rumours" have it that tonight's meeting at Arlington may be the last ever. If so, that's a massive case of bloodymindedness!

Speedway is set to continue at Eastbourne in 2015.
The club’s Elite League licence is to be put “on ice” for a year but arrangements are being made to submit an application to join the National League.
A club spokesman said: “It is well documented that it will not be viable for us to compete in next year’s Elite League competition and it has been agreed that our Elite League licence can be put on hold for a year.
“We see the National League as the perfect way of continuing speedway racing at Arlington. The costs will be significantly lower and international events will not affect our meetings as they have done in recent years.
“The National League will also enable us to run a team with a more local flavour which, we hope, will be attractive to supporters.”
The spokesman said detailed arrangements about the running of the National League club would be made public later.
It is confirmed the application to join the National League is being made by the current operating company and does not involve any third parties.

How do they know if it will or will not be viable without knowing what next year's EL competition will be? So we assume that the BSPA have agreed to the licence being put on hold because they know the structure of the EL already?
