Jason Crump will fly to Geneva in Switzerland to undergo surgery on his broken collarbone, after his sponsor RedBull stepped in.
The Australian crashed in a Russian league match at his home track in Vladivostok, the injury looked like it would force him out for 3 weeks as he recovers.
But his main sponsor RedBull have come to his aid, they have arranged to fly Crump to Switzerland, in order for him to have the collarbone plated by their specialist medical team.
By having the surgery, Crump's chances of making the next GP round have increased, and with him sitting joint second in the standings, he is in a good position to fight for a fourth world title this year.
Ahead of the surgery, Crump is optimistic that he will take his place in the Croatian Grand Prix, which takes place in 8 days time (July 28).
He said on his website: "My sponsors Red Bull have arranged the surgery and their specialist medical team will plate the collarbone."
He added: "I will miss meetings in Poland and Sweden this week but I hope to be fit enough to ride in the next Grand Prix in Croatia in just over a weeks' time."
