Son of Fedor Assombalonga, former DR Congo international - Born in DR Congo (then Zaire) 6 December 1992, before moving to London aged eight months - Product of Watford academy and made first-team debut in March 2012 - Scored five goals in five games on loan at Braintree and 16 in 49 for Southend - Became Peterborough's record signing in the summer of 2013 Assombalonga Jr has made a remarkable start to life with Posh, scoring seven goals in nine games to win the Football League's Young Player of the Month award for August. if not burdened enough by the challenge of trying to fire Posh back to the Championship, is having to contend with the attempts of his dad and team-mate Gabi Zakuani to persuade him to commit his international future to Congo rather than England.
Well according to champs nationality test, Assombalonga isn't English so it's got to be Congo
