Posh will host Sky Bet League One rivals Tranmere Rovers at London Road in the second round of the FA Cup.Peterborough United will host Tranmere Rovers in the second round of the FA Cup after the draw was made following Northampton Town's hard-fought win at Bishop Stortford. Darren Ferguson's men were convincing winners at Prenton Park earlier in the campaign. The tie will be played over the weekend of 8/9th December 2013. Posh 5-0 three sided thrashing  Shocking 3,269 Britt Assombalonga scored a hat-trick on his return from suspension as Peterborough thrashed Tranmere 5-0 in the FA Cup second round. The striker beat Owain Fon Williams at his near post to put Posh in front and ex-Rovers trialist Shaun Jeffers turned in Lee Tomlin's corner for 2-0. Assombalonga then fired in two powerful efforts to complete his treble. And Jeffers completed the rout in second-half stoppage time when he converted a Michael Bostwick cross. Peterborough also beat Tranmere 5-0 in League One at Prenton Park in August and repeated the feat at London Road to book their place in Sunday's third-round draw. Best to ignore like brum I beg to differ, he is probably the best reason I choose not to buy the ET now. Let's be honest you don't talk to highly about Plummer but at least he likes his speedway. |
