Bech was leaning towards signing for Peterborough in a bid to sharpen his skills on a larger track and break into Polish champions Zielona Gora’s team, where he is under contract for one more season. He admits Panthers’ closure is a big blow to the Elite League.
He said: “I think it’s sad that one of the biggest tracks is out of the Elite League. It’s good for some riders to learn how to ride the big tracks, as well as the small tracks. Now it’s only King’s Lynn and Swindon that are big race tracks.
“I was keen on going to Peterborough and making a deal. But then I heard ‘we’re not running next year; we’re out of the league’.
I just thought ‘where did that come from?’” (didn't we all mate!)
