Looks like this is becoming the usual Speedway farce. If the riders can't be bothered why should we.

And there was Kennett last week whining about his season ending so early, how strange that he dips out of the PL's biggest individual meeting. The machine examiners must be hot on silencers! If that's correct then they are all good on big tracks so that is shocking!

Never used to be like that, guess it highlights how times have changed. This used to be a prestigious event. Remember the coach trips to Halifax, Wimbledon, Coventry etc... I started young - great days. It's all such a mess now.

I can also remember riders keen to ride in them like riders are with the GP,s today, now the title means nothing as ALLEN has recently highlighted.

Remember the coach trips to Halifax, Wimbledon, Coventry etc... I started young - great days. It's all such a mess now. I went with my dad and his workmates to watch Dick Greer or Mike Lanham at Wimbledon (think it was Dick that time) and recall them driving through London shouting King Arthur (Boston's Arthur Price won) out of the car window to perplexed London folk. It was a different age then

The line-up has seen several changes due to a number of reasons with Nick Morris, Morten Risager, Matej Kus, Stuart Robson and Jason Garrity all coming in. 1. Steve Worrall (Edinburgh), 2. Most don't, complete waste of time and money. Yet the BSPA sell it as "one of the most prestigious pieces of British speedway silverware."The BSPA showcase everyone of their Championships because they are one of biggest earners of the BSPA kitty. They pay basic rates (which is why they struggle to attract riders, 5 withdrawals so far to date) and a lot of the prizes are donated, they also charge top dollar for a very average programme which never allows for late withdrawals or substitutes. Oliver ALLEN who is the current holder cannot be bothered to ride in it because he will get more money in Poland. Quite why they don't fix these championships on dates that don't clash with anything else shows just how crap the BSPA are at organising.
