5 years too late in our case:
LEWIS Bridger has announced his decision to take a break from speedway and not compete in the 2015 season.
Eastbourne asset Bridger, who has spent the last two campaigns on loan with Lakeside in the Elite League, has not ruled out the possibility of returning to the sport in future.
He said: “This last season has been a struggle for me, I have lost my love for the sport, have no desire to race and am quite simply not enjoying it any more.
“To be a successful rider you have to make many sacrifices and a lot of these have a major impact on your life away from speedway. When you get pleasure from your racing, these sacrifices are easier to make but when you are not then it is a very different situation.
“Speedway is a dangerous sport and when you're not enjoying it, there are safer ways to make a living. It is time for me to do something else.”
