2015 British Speedway Handbook

I read a review on the above book in the star today and I wondered if anyone thought like I did that it was odd that Peter Oakes did this review bearing in mind he wrote the book.

Especially the last paragraph " Exactly how Oakes finds the time and patience to put everything together is amazing. The book as always, a must for any speedway follower or statistical guru"


I have a lot of books by Peter Oakes and seen several copies of past seasons issues and even one of these and they are very readable but the cost is totally prohibitive, at a tenner or £12 I would certainly buy one but not at £25.50, that's just ridiculous, I don't care how good it is

But that's the interesting part they are all still full price on his web site, probably got a garage full.

Is 'How I screwed up Peterborough Speedway' one of his publications ? On a serious note The Daily Mirror Speedway Yearbook was always a good buy at something like 50p many many years ago. I still have a couple from the 70's in my collection.

Read somewhere that Peter Oakes never wrote the book, his company published it.
