Another dull Prague GP I predict. If as I expect they seriously need to move it. Well that's knackered that: The Czech Republic FIM Speedway Grand Prix will stay in Prague for the next three years after Autoklub Marketa signed a new three-year deal to host the event until 2018.The Prague showpiece has been part of the SGP calendar every season since 1997 – making the Marketa Stadium the longest-serving venue in the competition’s 21-year history. Next season’s sees Marketa stage its 20th Czech SGP and Paul Bellamy, managing director of SGP rights holder BSI Speedway, is delighted to extend the series’ ties with the city. He said: “It has been fantastic to see the Czech SGP grow into such a popular event during the past two decades, and the Marketa Stadium has grown and developed with it into a fantastic speedway venue. “Having the beautiful and lively city of Prague just minutes away is a huge plus, as fans travel from all over the world to enjoy, not just a great night of racing, but a brilliant all-round weekend break. “Autoklub Marketa have always been very professional to work with and we look forward to continuing that co-operation in the years to come.” Autoklub Marketa president Petr Ondrasik said: “The Czech SGP has long been established as a huge highlight of, not just the club’s racing calendar, but also the Czech speedway season. “We look forward to welcoming fans from all over the world to Marketa tomorrow night and for the next three years. And we will work hard in coming seasons to ensure the Czech SGP continues to go from strength to strength.” sgp

More often than not you only get one or two good races anyway. There were a few decent heats and other incident. Add in the status of the meeting and a British winner, you're hard to please!

Prague - it's a beautiful city! I had a bet on what heat Pearson would say that CZECH SGP SCORES: 1 Tai Woffinden 18, 2 Jaroslaw Hampel 13, 3 Maciej Janowski 18, 4 Nicki Pedersen 15, 5 Greg Hancock 13, 6 Andreas Jonsson 9, 7 Matej Zagar 9, 8 Niels-Kristian Iversen 8, 9 Jason Doyle 7, 10 Chris Holder 6, 11 Troy Batchelor 6, 12 Chris Harris 5, 13 Krzysztof Kasprzak 4, 14 Michael Jepsen Jensen 4, 15 Vaclav Milik 2, 16 Tomas H Jonasson 1, 17 Matej Kus 0, 18 Josef Franc 0. WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS: 1 Tai Woffinden 40 2 Nicki Pedersen 34 3 Jaroslaw Hampel 31 4 Greg Hancock 27 5 Matej Zagar 24 6 Andreas Jonsson 24 7 Maciej Janowski 23 8 Jason Doyle 22 9 Niels-Kristian Iversen 21 10 Michael Jepsen Jensen 19 11 Chris Harris 18 12 Krzysztof Kasprzak 17 13 Chris Holder 13 14 Troy Batchelor 13 15 Tomas H Jonasson 9 So the SGP moves onto a second rate speedway nation's big event in 6 weeks time. The current leader can't even be bothered to race here for fear of turning into Troy Batchelor. Team GB's attempt at the SWC (something that could dealt with in one meeting as the World Team Cup once was) will sort of agree with Woffinden's reasoning?

If it wasn't for those bloody awful tattoos! And awful ears. We would have a right ambassador. At least it was a better GP and not bad for Prague, Woffinden winning helped but as you say he does look a bit of a mess. 6 week break now before 3 GP,s in July which is a shame because the SWC doesn't do a lot for me.

Not bad for Prague sums it up nicely. Don't quite understand all the fantastic GP euphoria, was still mainly all from the gate but flat out 4 laps. I'm ok with WTC, just like having speedway on TV - but so wish they would ditch the joker and allow a reserve, both ridiculous decisions.

It's the joker farce that did it for me, riders deliberately pulling up and then other riders doing the same in the same race killed my enthusiasm, tac subs I can live with but double points is pure farce.
