Ok so top group join hosts Denmark in final. 2nd and 3rd play off for winner make the final. That's it. I'd say Poland will win event 1 with the Czechs dipping out. GB will win event 2 before being embarrassed in Denmark. It'll be tight at the top with the Aussies and it could be tight at the bottom between Latvia & USA although I'd expect the Americans to finish 3rd. Australia just to pip Sweden in the race-off. My guess at the final is: Denmark Poland Team GB Australia If they all stay fit for their 3rd meeting in a week, I'd back the Aussies to win. Best odds 9/1 on sportingbet but as low as 9/2 on williamhill. The Danes are odds-on on all boards.

Why do they continue to ignore the majority!!! Another meeting ruined as a result of these ridiculous rules.

Why do they continue to ignore the majority!!! Another meeting ruined as a result of these ridiculous rules. I Sky+'d it and watched it after the Champions League Final. It didn't take long as it's all pretty predictable: It should have been Poland, Sweden, Russia, Czech: but we needed 20 heats and 4 heats with no Poles to swop the first 2 places. Then we get Pearson & Tatum talking in riddles, unable to actually say what a poor (IMO) competition the SWC is. Playing up to the rules is speedway's equivalent of a dive in the penalty area. I'm not sure how you stop it though? You probably need a tactical option to keep it interest going but in this event particularly it causes non triers. Perhaps the only answer is zero tolerance to a sniff of anyone not racing unless sparks are seen coming from the machine. Poland = 361. Jaroslaw Hampel - NS = 0 WITHDRAWN 2. Przemyslaw Pawlicki - 3, 3, 2, 2, 3 = 13 3. Maciej Janowski - 2, 3, 2, 3, 3 = 13 4. Bartosz Zmarzlik - 3, 3, 1, R, 3 = 10 Sweden = 401. Antonio Lindback - 2, 1, 3, 3, 2 = 11 2. Event 2 Well this has captured the imagination. Nothing in the Daily Mirror; even the sportswire snippets only covers golf, WSB, ice hockey, cycling!

So 20 match races with the only real interest being who was going to crack first (Team GB & Lambert unfortunately), could USA get in the way of either at any point and could Latvia avoid coming last in any heat:
Great Britain = 43
1. Chris Harris - 3, 3, 2, 3, 2 = 13 2. Daniel King - 2, 2, 2, 3, 1 = 10 3. Tai Woffinden - 3, 1, 3, 3, 3 = 13 4. Robert Lambert - 1, X, 2, 2, 2 = 7
USA = 22
1. Greg Hancock - 3, 3, 2^, 3, 0, 1 = 12 2. Gino Manzares - 1, 1, 1, 1, 0 = 4 3. Ryan Fisher - 1, X, 2, 1, 1 = 5 4. Max Ruml - 0, 0, 1, 0 = 1
Australia = 47
1. Chris Holder - 3, 3, 1, 2, 2 = 11 2. Nick Morris - 2, 2, 3, 2, 3 = 12 3. Troy Batchelor - 2, 2, 1, 3, 3 = 11 4. Jason Doyle - 2, 3, 3, 2, 3 = 13
Latvia = 09
1. Maksim Bogdanovs - 0, 1, 0, 1, 1 = 3 2. Andzejs Lebedevs - R, 2, 1, 0, 0, 2 = 5 3. Kasts Puodzuks - 1, 0, 0, 0, F = 1 4. Jevgenijs Kostigovs - 0, 0, 0, 0 = 0

Best odds 9/1 on sportingbet but as low as 9/2 on williamhill. The Danes are odds-on on all boards. Well Hampel buggered up the first one and Morris the second because the Aussies didn't have a weak link and never really came under pressure. Unless there is a race-off injury then the final will be: Denmark Poland Lucky Sweden Australia So not far off.

Probably one of the best speedway meetings I have seen for a long time full of action and incidents, the underdogs came out on top, would have liked Australia to have finished third just to upset the mix
