Considering the amount of Poles in Peterborough, I'm thinking of moving to Torun to redress the balance a little! Considering that Leicester built from scratch (never been btw) then how come that they didn't come up with a track shape like that?

I watched it again this afternoon as soon as Hamilton got a 5 sec penalty in Austria. Now I'm a big F1 but jeez, that's now what I call boring, especially since the cars went silent. As for too many rules in F1 (very speedway like in that respect), the bloke trying to explain, on Ted Kravitz's Qualifying Notebook last night, grid penalty positions was pure comedy.
The SEC may not mean much in reality and is just a poor mans SGP, but some of that action was breathtakingly cut-throat considering. Nothing in speedway excites me too much these days but that was something else. The camera angles entering turn 3 and exiting turn 4 just show why we like this sport.
You must stop watching Hans Andersen Dick, he's not the barnstorming rider we once enjoyed. I can't work out what's up with him? It doesn't look like his bottle has gone but he is perhaps thinking about it too much these days? He often got in the right place but didn't go forward as he once did?

I only watched a few heats, Hans looks so slow, he has changed tuner apparently and it's clear not for the best. You can't really say it was boring then as the second half of the meeting was a bit tasty. I caught the second half today. I would agree that the first 10 heats were not the best but speedway usually warms up after half way. Andersen was frustratingly slow. I'd ask for my money back from the tuner. Having said that, it'd be good to see him on decent equipment to see whether it's him or the bikes? It's hard to believe that only Smolinski had slower equipment than Andersen. Perhaps time has caught up with him, as it has with Gollob who clearly no longer wants to go where he never had a second thought in his prime! Having said that, Gollob also often got in decent positions as well but just wasn't carrying the speed that he once had.

Very similar shape to Peterborough but has the banking that creates a number of racing lines. If only!!!

Was enjoying this, well about 6 or 7 heats of it (watching on delay on Sky+ when it gets to the point when it says that your programme has ended, even though it hasn't, and you're basically stuffed). I hit the buttons to get to real time and they were just rolling up for the rerun of the final. I don't even know why Gollob was excluded. Cracking evening's viewing Winner Emil Sayfutdinov, arguably the best rider in the world, in a toss up (unfortunate term when Ward is involved) with Darcy Ward (talent without the intelligence, allegedly, at this stage of his career)?

Well we're on the as and when summer rota at the EoES, Posh at home then round 3 of this will have to do. It's been ok thus far:
The third round of Speedway's European Championship series is on August 15th at the ICA Maxi Arena in Kumla. Some of the best speedway riders from Europe will fight for points to become European Champion. Riders who ride regularly in the Swedish league and are familiar with the stadium in Kumla (track length 375 metres) will fancy their chances. Undoubtedly one such rider will be current second in the SEC series, Nicki Pedersen - I do not hide the fact that I prefer to ride on longer tracks, so the track in Kumla suits me. I usually achieve good results there, so I hope that that will be the case on Saturday - says triple world champion Nicki Pedersen. Antonio Lindback is another who should go well at Kumla in front of his home crowd - The track in Kumla is one of the best in the world. You can race really great here so I am confident that we will see good competition said Lindback. After two rounds the leader of the current SEC series is the 2014 European Champion, Emil Sayfutdinov. In Sayfutdinov's last league match at the ICA Maxi Arena in Kumla on Aug 4 he scored 16 points. The Russian currently has a two point advantage over Nicki Pedersen in the standings (31 points against 29), with Lindback sitting third on 23. edited as best I could from the confusing article on speedwayeuro.com
