After watching that guff (guff in terms of it masquerading as our highest level of speedway, not the action/incident of which there was some) at Lakeside tonight, which couldn't get a crowd in despite the £5 offer; it just reminded me of how far backwards speedway has gone since 2010 with the continuing dumming down of the product and eventual hounding out of the 2 people who wanted to go in the other direction.
On Talksport this morning they were talking about the women's football World Cup and some lower league football being just as good as England & the Premier League but fans don't support it. Barry Hearn was on and said that's why he got out of Orient. He couldn't give tickets away in the end.
If Frost or Sandhu were asked the question then they might have said the same as Hearn (just replace football with speedway)? Hearn's quote here is vey speedway sounding:
Hearn’s reign at Orient lasted 19 years and he explained why he decided to bow out. “The football business is morally and economically defunct and fundamentally flawed. I couldn’t wait to leave.”
I wonder how many fans go to Cardiff but not much else during the year? I know of some empty seats a Peterborough who do.

Don't watch Swedish speedway but caught the end of tonight's meeting from heat 11 as I was flicking round the channels, and very good it was too, especially compared with that dross from Lakeside last night:
Heat 13: Andersen, Jonsson, Harris, Watt 2-4 37-41 Heat 14: Kennett, Lawson, King, Kylmakorpi 5-1 42-42 Heat 15: Jonsson, Andersen, Harris, Kennett 3-3 45-45
Heat 13: Holder, Hancock, Lindgren, Lindback 5-1 42-36 Heat 14: Ward, Iversen - Tactical Ride, Lindback, Holder 3-3 45-39 Heat 15: Hancock, Ward, Lindback, Iversen 5-1 50-40
