Well with the natives restless it's time to bolt the stable door and not handle the situation very well: PETERBOROUGH would like to point out to supporters that standing at the back of the main East of England Showground grandstand is no longer permitted. This is as a result of a directive from our landlords concerning new health and safety regulations which have recently been introduced. (which are what and why )We had to issue a number of requests for fans in that area to take a seat during last night's Premier League Cup clash against Sheffield. It has been made clear to us that our permission to race at the Showground will be withdrawn should the situation arise again. We appreciate the disappointment of some supporters who may have watched the action from that position for many years, but we thank them for their understanding. peterboroughpanthers.co/news 9/4/16

What I found strange was, as the announcements were made on the tannoy viz. 'will the people at the back sit down or we will not be able to continue the meeting' the 'security' staff (which I assume are those in the yellow jackets or with the blue bibs?) who usually stand around the bottom of the grandstand were noticeable by their absence, having collected on the grass outside the bar area - with one exception (that I saw) who appeared late on in proceedings ie.,after several requests from the announcer etc. and spoke to one old chap about sitting down

Completely mad.
If health and safety is such an issue with regard to standing at the back of the grandstand in broad daylight, why were the public led out of the stadium via a poorly lit back road which bore a hole for all to trip over?
The pot bellied so called "health and safety officers" were a joke and the offer of a NVQ qualification to be a Steward as stated in the programme was ridiculous and just shows how stupid our current laws have become.
But if you want to see speedway you will have to comply.
The next thing will be carbonised toilet paper because those in charge will want to see a copy!
Lets all apply for a NVQ and then all ban each other.
Pathetic!

That is a good point. Getting of in and out many such places can be dangerous but ignored in today's H&S obsessed world and just highlights what a useful badge H&S is when it suits. When the Motorpoint stand was being constructed at Posh I put on their FB page how dangerous exiting the stadium was for some supporters. Now whether that or something else got a reaction I don't know but for the next match there were lights erected and stewards standing on each raised drain (drains standing proud to be tripped over because the tarmac road to their level was yet to be laid).

Don't forget any Truckfest goers - report back if there's any health and safety breach at the back of the stand.

Don't forget any Truckfest goers - report back if there's any health and safety breach at the back of the stand. Well we got the info from elsewhere: 22A (BSF) Posted 2/5/16 10:06 AM Some friends went to Truckfest yesterday. I asked them about standing in the seated areas. Security immediately told anyone who tried standing to sit down. Some people at the back sat on the backs of their seats to be a little higher and they were told to sit down properly as well. Although it doesn't actually mention standing at the back which is not a seated area
