the 28 day signing will surely be the best option IMO, and there`s not many to choose from but Ashley surly would jump at the chance for a some Prem rides and think he would score more than RR. jim

PETERBOROUGH are closing in on the capture of British talent Ashley Morris.
The Panthers have agreed a short-term deal with the Midlands man and the move awaits the ratification of the British Speedway Promoters’ Association (BSPA) management committee.
Morris boasts a Premier League average of 4.65 and has been lined up to replace injury victim Simon Lambert for the next 28 days.
He will actually slot into the Peterborough septet at reserve with Emil Grondal rising back into the main body of the side.
Providing the deal gets the green light from the sport’s governing body, Morris will make his debut against Scunthorpe in a crucial Premier League clash tomorrow night (Tuesday, 7.30pm) at the East of England Showground.
“It is a move which suits both parties really well,” said Peterborough promoter Ged Rathbone.
“We were very keen to draft in a short-term signing given the current situation where we could be without Simon for the next couple of months.
“We didn’t feel we could go down the rider replacement route for that length of time as it would place too much of a burden on the bottom end of the team.
“And Ashley jumped at the chance to come on board. He is keen to test himself in the Premier League again and this short-term move will certainly put him in the shop window.
“Ashley might only be 22 but he boasts considerably more experience than many older riders. He has raced at all three levels of British speedway and I’m confident he will make the most of this opportunity.”

Speculation re changes on Prem league forum, about changes etc, if Tom Perry does not improve, cannot Ashley count as our English rider?, ita a shame Kyle Newman and others as FDR riders for about 2 or 3 seasons were averaging in the top 10 to 15 in the Elite league. and still kept a 3 point ave till this season, the Prem league ones were not in the same class as the FDR lot, Tom Perry should have been allowed at least the same period at reserve jim

What a lot of people should know that only another 3.00 FDR rider can replace an existing one irrespective what his average is at the time so no advantage would be gained by Panthers.

Thanks Dick, that decision is a poor one it penalises our club, he has been made to go up so normal team rules should apply, like for like, its forcing us to run with 3 reserves basically ji9m

I don't know the ins and outs of the rules ... wasn't morris signed for 28 days meaning after the 28days lambert comes back in the declared line up injured or uninjured ? lamberts average means he should be back at reserve this month ,meaning we could have guests for him ( horses for courses ) meaning guests like lykke (home and away ) ,rose sergeant at home ,
