So it's on to Torun which rarely disappoints at this level. It's all to play for with it possibly going down to the wire in Melbourne. The top 3 places and top 8 spots are all up for grabs. I wonder how friendly Lindgren is with Lindback and whether he wants to let a Dane in instead? With AJ surely finally bowing out of the series, does Lindgren want to be a lone Swede?
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP STANDINGS:
1 Jason Doyle 123 2 Greg Hancock 118 3 Tai Woffinden 107 4 Bartosz Zmarzlik 100 5 Chris Holder 98 6 Piotr Pawlicki 81 7 Maciej Janowski 80 8 Antonio Lindback 74
9 Fredrik Lindgren 73 10 Niels-Kristian Iversen 64 11 Matej Zagar 64 12 Nicki Pedersen 62 (certain 2017 wildcard I guess) 13 Peter Kildemand 62 14 Andreas Jonsson 39 15 Chris Harris 33 16 Michael Jepsen Jensen 11
2017 Qualifiers from the SGP Challenge. Martin Vaculik (Slo) Patryk Dudek (Pol) Fredrik Lindgren (Swe)
Depends whether Freddie is fast or not. Kenneth Bjerre (Den)

He also won in Cardiff which may tilt the balance for him?

No surprise in this really:Triple world champion Nicki Pedersen’s FIM Speedway Grand Prix season is over after he officially withdrew from the Australian SGP in Melbourne on October 22.The Danish icon pulled out of last Saturday’s Stockholm SGP and the FST Grupa Brokerska Torun SGP this Saturday after suffering a broken wrist, neck and ribs at the Golden Helmet meeting in Pardubice on September 18. He underwent surgery on the wrist and must now wait until 2017 for his return to action, meaning his only possible route into next year’s World Championship series is a receiving permanent wild card from the SGP Commission.Pedersen is replaced in Torun and Melbourne by SGP second reserve Michael Jepsen Jensen, with first stand-in Freddie Lindgren already covering for injured Polish star Jaroslaw Hampel. sgp Proper speedway

All of this talk of mental made me think I'd stumbled onto the BSF by mistake. I have heard that Morrisey Fan's nickname is Johnny and it's well mental
Iversen (yes the Poole man won the GP) admits some mental coaching behind the scenes has played a key role in him turning his season around with two final appearances in three rounds.
He said: “I’ve been trying to put my focus in different places and working a little bit with Johnny, my mental coach who I’ve been working with for years and years.
“He has come in and out when we’ve needed him. I’ve been spending a little bit more time with him over the last couple of months. I’ve been working with him since 2010. He has changed a lot for me.
“You have to have the mental side in the right place. Your mentality is 70 percent of what you need to get great results. You really have to build yourself up to that.

Well that buggered that unless you're a Hancock fan. Horrendous crash for Doyle stops his title charge but how many times are we going to hear about the air fence lifting up and not being there when needed? Yes it's a great addition to safety but still not fully effective, as proved time and time again. That was only one story here though in the usual spectacular Torun SGP. Iversen joins Zagar in the late run as the two fight for their GP career. It looks like there may not be enough wildcards for the 2017 15 rider SGP field so someone is going to be very disappointed. Bjerre will be hoping that Lindgren's form continues to Mebourne. Lindback is out of sorts, but, in form Iversen and Zagar will be busting a gut to make that all important top 8. Poor from Woffinden yet again with the title well and truly gone barring Hancock not turning up in Aus and also Woffinden gaining a 20 point score in Melbourne. In reality, Woffinden's main problem is keeping ahead of that bloke screaming Pearson continually wets himself over, as well as there or thereabouts Holder.
TORUN SGP SCORES: 1 Niels-Kristian Iversen 15, 2 Greg Hancock 16, 3 Bartosz Zmarzlik 13, 4 Matej Zagar 15, 5 Chris Holder 11, 6 Michael Jepsen Jensen 10, 7 Piotr Pawlicki 10, 8 Fredrik Lindgren 9, 9 Pawel Przedpelski 8, 10 Tai Woffinden 8, 11 Andreas Jonsson 7, 12 Maciej Janowski 5, 13 Antonio Lindback 5, 14 Chris Harris 3, 15 Peter Kildemand 2, 16 Kacper Woryna 1, 17 Oskar Bober 0, 18 Jason Doyle 0.
