DARCY Ward has backed Pirates new boy Jack Holder to make a big impression in his rookie year in the top flight.
Former Poole star Ward – one of the most talented riders of his generation – believes "anything is possible" for the New South Wales-born charger.
Doubling-up rider Holder was the first name on the teamsheet for Pirates chief Matt Ford, signing up on a 7.16 average.
And Ward feels his countryman will seamlessly make the step up to the top level after two seasons in the Premier League with Plymouth.
Ward told the Daily Echo: "I think it will be good for Jack and he's going to love it. He's definitely going to have a good season.
"From my experience and that of other riders, Poole is a very hard track to get used to but in saying that, the league is not as strong so he will do well.
"I think he will enjoy it and when he is enjoying it, anything is possible. Let's see where the future takes him."
Holder, the younger brother of former world champion Chris, is also due to race for Peterborough in the SGB Championship.
Jack became a Pirates asset in July last year when he joined on a full transfer from Plymouth.
