We know how it ends so why we need a week to sort it out, buggered if I know? More generally, why it's an annual competion is more of a mystery. Winning the SWC means little really. I'd say that even if England, sorry, Team GB, once again got near the gong

Tacticals yes but the Joker does nothing at all for this competition.

I'd say that even if England, sorry, Team GB, once again got near the gong View AttachmentHaving said that, it'll be good experience and chance to see how much progress we have made. Team GB will no doubt win a few races here and there but will not have enough quality. That's not much of a downer in the Poles back yard tbh. The World Cup final is being staged at Leszno, in Poland, next Saturday. Great Britain will face hosts Poland, the team who triumph in Event Two on Tuesday and the race-off winners. MONSTER ENERGY FIM SPEEDWAY WORLD CUP EVENT 1, King’s Lynn GREAT BRITAIN 53: Craig Cook 14, Robert Lambert 13, Chris Harris 13, Steve Worrall 13, Adam Ellis DNR. AUSTRALIA 44: Chris Holder 19, Troy Batchelor 12, Max Fricke 8, Nick Morris 5, Jason Doyle DNR. USA 15: Gino Manzares 7, Ricky Wells 3, Dillon Ruml 2, Luke Becker 2, Brock Nicol 1. CZECH REPUBLIC 13: Vaclav Milik 6, Josef Franc 4, Hynek Stichaeur 3, Matej Kus 0, Eduard Krcmar 0. Great Britain qualify for World Cup Final (Leszno, Poland, Saturday July 8)Australia and USA qualify for Race-Off (Leszno, Poland, Friday July 7)

Great meeting tonight from Sweden. What a treat to see four evenly matched sides battling it out on fantastic track. Hope some of our BSPA hierarchy were watching they might have picked up a few tips on how to provide decent racing.
Some things don't change ! When the going get's tough, King Kenny goes missing. Very impressed with the Russians & Latvians.

Very impressed with the Russians & Latvians. I'll have to get the replay. I thought that it was on later and I got there at heat 12 and couldn't be bothered to watch any more. As you say though, I did catch King Ken's Joker (appropriate name) ride when he confirmed what the fans all knew, even if management never got it: "If ever you need a race winning then make sure that Bjerre isn't in it" Rather than the track though I think that four even sides is the important part.

Nice to see ex Panther Henrik Møller at Nielsens side, I do hope he is better at team management than he was a rider.

Two mistakes in one - TM Nielsen did a cracking job for the other 3 teams. I'm not sure whether that was a shocking gate or whether he planned on going for the white line. Either way, it was not the risk for a tactical ride. Bjerre looked lightweight and easily brushed aside by more determined opponents - it was just like old times - I would say good old times but that wouldn't be accurate

Heat 16 was the only opportunity for Denmark to play the joker.
Is it only me that thought Lindback was doing Latvia a favour in heat 20?

The Aussies were woeful tonight. They could have done with Jack in their team. I think Chris Holder is in serious decline. Batchelor again proved what a nob head he is. Throwing a race so they could play the stupid joker backfired spectacularly. It was great to watch. Fair play to the four Russian rider's especially Emil and the 17 year old reserve they were outstanding.

Thought the Aussies were nailed on but forgot that Crump, Sullivan, Adams et al are long gone. As for USA, they would have been eliminated long ago in any sensible qualification. They can talk them up all they like but when winning is race (I did catch the last race) is greeted like winning the title then that tells you much: RACE OFF SCORES1 RUSSIA 46: 1 Emil Sayfutdinov 15, 2 -, 3 Vadim Tarasenko 10, 4 Andrei Kudriashov 10, 5 Gleb Chugunov 11. 2 AUSTRALIA 33: 1 Jason Doyle 12, 2 Sam Masters 2, 3 Chris Holder 6, 4 Troy Batchelor 7, 5 Max Fricke 6. 3 LATVIA 30: 1 Kasts Puodzuks 4, 2 Jevgenijs Kostigovs 6, 3 Andzejs Lebedevs 18, 4 Maksims Bogdanovs 2, 5 No Rider. 4 USA 15: 1 Ricky Wells 6, 2 Gino Manzares 2, 3 Luke Becker 4, 4 Dillon Ruml 1, 5 Broc Nicol 2.
