£50,000 fine for Cologne one of the rich German clubs for crowd trouble against Arsenal, £40.000 for a speedway club, who struggle to break even, as most of the teams do these days, its ludicrous, I know we accepted money to allow Jack to ride, but to keep a club going in my opinion Ged did the right thing, possibly would have ensured our future for at least one or two more years, so here`s hoping that common sense prevails in the outcome, ( would be the First time if it does )

I agree given the financial differences between Football and Speedway the fine looks disproportionate however suspect SCB would claim they are only negating the benefit of the alleged payment.
I appreciate that there will be different views on this but my view is that Ged did two things wrong (1) Accepting the Payment (2) Trusting Godfrey.

Yes but at least by phoning Godfrey and asking about the situation, should stop those who have insinuated that he was going to keep the money for himself, if he was, the last thing anyone would do in that situation, tell someone about it, especially a committee member Jim
