Draw (Main article: 2018 FIFA World Cup seeding)The draw will be held on 1 December 2017, at 18:00 MSK, at the State Kremlin Palace in Moscow. The 32 teams will be drawn into eight groups of four. For the draw, the teams will be allocated to four pots based on the FIFA World Rankings of October 2017. Pot 1 contains the hosts Russia (which will be automatically assigned to Position A1) and the best seven teams, Pot 2 contains the next best eight teams, and so on for Pots 3 and 4. This will be different from previous draws, where only Pot 1 was based on FIFA Rankings while the remaining pots were based on geographical considerations. Same as previous editions, teams from the same confederation will not be drawn against each other for the group stage, except for UEFA where each group can contain up to two teams. wikipedia/wiki/2018_FIFA_World_Cup

Netherlands 0 England 1Georgie Bingham @georgiebingham 23/3/18
Right people - PERSPECTIVE- The Dutch are rather poor - BUT assured and positive performance. Young team. Don’t want to never watch England again. So - steps!!!I'd agree with that b0252 Followed by: click image to enlarge. Vardy on 26 mins but undone under pressure by an 87 min penalty. England played well without a cutting edge so this is more the norm.

England squad for Russia:Goalkeepers: Jack Butland (Stoke), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Nick Pope (Burnley). Defenders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Fabian Delph (Manchester City), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Harry Maguire (Leicester), Danny Rose (Tottenham), John Stones (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Tottenham), Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Ashley Young (Manchester United). Midfielders: Dele Alli, Eric Dier (both Tottenham), Jordan Henderson (Liverpool), Jesse Lingard (Manchester United), Ruben Loftus-Cheek (Chelsea). Forwards: Harry Kane (Tottenham), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Raheem Sterling (Manchester City), Jamie Vardy (Leicester), Danny Welbeck (Arsenal). I'm happy with that. Could be anything! Was fed up with seeing the same old failures picked; let's hope Southgate can get them playing forward for once.

England concluded their World Cup preparations in impressive fashion by comfortably beating Costa Rica 2-0 at Elland Road, Leeds.
Manager Gareth Southgate made 10 changes from Saturday's win against Nigeria at Wembley - and was rewarded with some fine individual displays and a commanding team performance in their final friendly before they depart for Russia.
Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford was the standout performer, pressing his World Cup claims with an outstanding first-half strike to put England ahead and threatening throughout.
Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope was given his debut as a second-half replacement for Jack Butland as Southgate made a host of changes, and Danny Welbeck - another substitute - wrapped up a thoroughly deserved win with a diving header from Dele Alli's ball.

GROUP B
Spain and Portugal tied with five points each and had the same plus-one goal differential, but Spain won the group because it scored one more goal over the three matches. Spain’s reward: playing the Russians in Moscow’s main stadium. Portugal will play Uruguay in the round of 16. Morocco and Iran have been eliminated.
GROUP C
France won the group and will meet Lionel Messi and Argentina to start the knockout stage. Denmark nabbed the second spot and plays Croatia. Australia and Peru were eliminated.
GROUP D
Croatia won the group easily and will play Denmark in the round of 16. Second- place Argentina moves on to play France. Nigeria and Iceland were eliminated.
GROUP E
Brazil took the top spot with a 2-0 win Wednesday over Serbia, which could have advanced with a victory. Brazil will play Mexico in the knockout stage. Switzerland’s 2-2 draw with Costa Rica was enough to lock up second place and a knockout-stage match with Sweden. Serbia and Costa Rica were eliminated.
GROUP F
Defending champion Germany staggered out of the tournament Wednesday with a 2-0 loss to South Korea. Sweden beat Mexico 3-0 to win the group and gets Switzerland to start the knockout stage. Mexico backed into the round of 16 courtesy of South Korea’s shocking win over Germany and will next play Brazil. Germany and South Korea were eliminated.
GROUP G
Belgium finished top of the group after beating England 1-0 as the pair jostled for position in their final group match. The Three Lions finished in second as Tunisia and Panama were eliminated.
GROUP H
Colombia beat Senegal 1-0 in its final group match to secure top spot. Japan lost its final game to Poland 1-0 but progressed ahead of Senegal on fair play rules, having recorded two fewer yellow cards. Therefore, Poland and Senegal were eliminated.

Too many people never see the opportunities and many people see the opportunities but never take them. Then there are life's winners. They go looking for the opportunities and when they see them they take them. That's what you're facing on the football field now isn't it? Now go and Fekkin take the opportunity and wring every little bit out of it!Approximately what Brian Taylor said to his England team before they played the Dutch in Rotterdam in 1993 and got cheated out of a place in the 1994 World Cup by an incompetent referee.
