POSH finally up and running with a 3 pointer.
Two goals in as many second-half minutes saw Peterborough record their first win of the season at Southend.
Mo Eisa fired Posh in front in the 55th minute and, moments later, Ivan Toney scored a second to condemn the Shrimpers to a fourth successive league defeat of the season.
Toney and Eisa went close for the visitors early on before Southend's Brandon Goodship fired wide of the left-hand post from just inside the penalty area.
Goodship went close again at the start of the second half but Peterborough hit back to open the scoring when Marcus Maddison's fine left-wing cross was converted by Eisa from inside the six-yard box.
Posh were celebrating again shortly afterwards when Maddison's fine cross-field pass picked out an unmarked Toney who brought the ball under control before netting with a neat finish.
The Shrimpers almost grabbed a late consolation with Mark Milligan heading Sam Mantom's left-wing corner against the crossbar.
