A great win on Saturday after recent blip, auto promotion now gone, but hope they can make it via playoffs, although they have lousy record at Wembley. I know and they know that should they make it the likelyhood is that they will come straight down again. However they will not sack the manager but will use parachute payments to proceed with their long term plan. Then back to the halcyon days of European Football. Just hope fans do not let themselves down as they did last time when they threw the cannons overboard and set fire to the sails
Also hoping Wealdstone can regain their place in the top flight of non league football.

In case anybody is interested I am gutted how Brentford literally threw away their chance of Premier League football. Those who are devoted to "Blue Skies" philosophy seem to think we will go up via play offs I on the other hand have no doubts that we have blown it, and expect us to lose over two legs to Swansea.

I have no doubt you are right. Totally blown it . For a while last night I felt numb thinking if we score or QPR score we are in Premier League. After restart we played some sublime football , but once again we have flattered to deceive. However the overall plan of trading up will continue. Blown it for this season but the strategy will continue.

Thought fate had turned in our favour after penalty save, but the gods and the ref had other ideas. Next season will be very difficult to achieve promotion with Norwich, Bournemouth and Watford in the mix to go back up.

Not down and out yet but the pressure is on and they've made it doubly difficult for themselves. It's only one goal but they need to win without a crowd to encourage them to do so. If Brentford have ambition to reach the Prem (if they fail this year) then those three relegated shouldn't worry anyone because the Championship is their level although I see Bournemouth settling in L1 at some point, perhaps even Watford as well?

In mourning it may take several months to recover. Those that let us down will presumably leave for Premier clubs pledging undying gratitude and devotion yet it is those that let us down.
We tend to think our players have the same level of devotion to the club as do the fans , they don't.
Precis of conversation overheard between two players : Player 1 Frank ( the manager) did not seem too pleased tonight, of course we would have been top if we had won.
Player 2 Really where are we in the league anyway

Lots of big teams around in a frighteningly competitive league. Brentford 7 - Pinnock (9' minutes), Fosu-Henry (41' minutes, 50' minutes), Toney (56' minutes pen, 86' minutes), CanĂ³s (81' minutes), Dasilva (89' minutes) (assists - Jensen (9' minutes), Toney (50' minutes), Dasilva (81' minutes), Zamburek (86' minutes), Forss (89' minutes)) Wycombe Wanderers 2 - Ikpeazu (14' minutes), Muskwe (43' minutes) (assists Adeniran (14' minutes), Charles (43' minutes))

I am hoping they can do it this season. Seeing a lot of the games on TV and I Follow. Yesterday the game and program was dedicated to those fans that died during 2020 Their names were printed in program , read out before the match and a minutes applause. My brother who died in August was amongst them. I have bought and sent the program to his wife in Thailand and other members of our depleted family
