Nadine Dorries @nadinedorries (Twitter)
I’ve written about our Coronavirus journey. Our household has recovered and we are so grateful for all the lovely comments and the support we received during the past week (15/3/20)
Having lived through #Coronavirus can I assure everyone that at no time during the seven days we were in isolation at home did we even once have to face a secondary crisis and run out of loo roll (15/3/20)

Well done Riggers, however being over 70 I have no intention of self isolating and could not do so even if I wanted. I am sure the thought is done with our interests at heart but like everything else they fail to ask the second, third and fourth question.

As far as I am aware have not been banned from going out to shops etc, from what I have seen today with the sheer greed and selfishness of many the chances of anyone helping other than myself are zilch. Over the weekend in a local supermarket an assistant placed an unopened case of handwash on shelf only for a man to pick up the whole lot and place in his trolley. Much ado when told he was limited to two bottles. I have purchased entire supply of immodium as with the lack of toilet rolls constipation seems the next best option

Heard someone on the radio today talking about supermarket shelves being empty but then said they went to a corner shop that was fully stocked. Funny that isn't it? Support your local shop they say, well I did for 18 months when I wasn't driving but to say that their mark up takes the piss at times isn't being unfair IMO (and I don't expect supermarket prices, just a justifiable increase).

Others seem to have all slots booked for 2 weeks or more. I heard today that many pensioners are being forced to try online shopping for the first time - well good luck with that, If the poor buggers can find a slot then any essentials, especially for someone on low income, are likely to be unavailable anyway.

Some of the things I have witnessed over the last few days have made me feel ashamed to be a member of the human race. The marauding hoards create shortages when there is no need. A neighbour told me they were in Tesco and were going to buy a bit of beef, a couple were in front of them and lady was heard to say look there are only three bits left what shall we do, husband replies we will have all three. Neighbour says so we will have to without then, man replies you should have got here earlier. God help the world with that attitude/
Saw I woman who had mangaed to buy toilet rolls , not content with 6 or 12 had huge pack which barely fitted in back of her car. Having said that she did seem to have a very large bum.

Exercise is essential for both physical and mental wellbeing. Get out into the fresh air. Walk, bike, run. - (not sure how that works if you can't get out?)
Regard every surface as contaminated and don’t touch gates, fences, stiles, pelican crossing buttons etc.
If you stop to talk, keep a good 2 mtr safe distance. #coronavirus

My car was at the garage on Tuesday. I was standing next to a new Peugeot 5008 so I offered the salesman 2 toilet rolls for it. Got the impression that he would have accepted had I offered 3.

Former Irish Premiership player Lee Duffy spent eight days in hospital "hooked up to oxygen" before recovering from coronavirus. The ex-Warrenpoint and Newry City striker, 28, said he "could no longer breathe on my own, scared not knowing what was going to happen". He later warned ... (BBC 22/3/20)
Lee Duffy@LeeDuffy7 - As some of you may or may not know, I tested positive for Covid-19 two weeks ago. I spent 8 days in hospital hooked up to oxygen as I could no longer breathe on my own, scared not knowing what was going to happen. Luckily I got through it and I’m starting to feel a lot better now
He later warned "not to take this lightly, it is very serious" - Warrenpoint wished Duffy a full recovery and noted that he "is a fit 28-year-old. It attacks all ages".

But praise and advertise (and use when this mess is over) the decent honest ones."

Stay at home to stop coronavirus spreading
Everyone must stay at home to help stop the spread of coronavirus.
You should only leave the house for 1 of 4 reasons: •shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible •one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household •any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person •travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home
Important - having just walked the dog (for my once a day exercise) I still don't think that people totally get this bit and can see a much tougher lockdown coming in the next few days.
These 4 reasons are exceptions – even when doing these activities, you should be minimising time spent outside of the home and ensuring you are 2 metres apart from anyone outside of your household.
Symptoms and what to do
Do not leave your home if you have either: •a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature) •a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
To protect others, do not go to places like a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital. Stay at home.
Use the 111 online coronavirus service to find out what to do.
Only call 111 if you cannot get help online.

Bit closer to home this one: "COVID-19 is the infectious disease caused by the most recently discovered coronavirus. This new virus and disease were unknown before the outbreak began in Wuhan, China, in December 2019." World Health Organization (WHO)

Despite the Government ordering UK citizens to stay at least 2m apart and not congregate in groups of more than two to try and stop the spread of the coronavirus, the message does not appear to be getting through to many who continue to go about their daily lives in Lincoln Road, Millfield. This is despite Boris Johnson insisting that people should only leave their home when they absolutely have to. People caught breaking rules on social distancing can be fined £30. Police in Peterborough said this afternoon: “There has been a noticeable increase in vehicle traffic and people out and about on foot across Peterborough today. Ask yourself ‘is my journey essential?’. If not stay at home.” Meanwhile, the need to keep a distance from other people has led to large queues forming in Cathedral Square as people use banks including Natwest and Barclays. Residents were reportedly waiting outside for hours as they waited to be seen. So far three people at Peterborough City Hospital have died from coronavirus, while the total number of deaths in the UK has reached 578. peterboroughtoday/news/people/coronavirus-shocking-lack-social-distancing-27/3/20 Who's surprised

Was shocked to have the window cleaner call today. Felt quite uncomfortable about that tbh. I don't see it as essential work in any understanding of the word (apart from it can't be done at home), especially with 2 people in the same van which doesn't count as social distancing

I fear for humanity as people stoop to lower and lower levels. Reports to day of two people entering a Sainsburys store in Lancashire and deliberately wiping their hands over fresh food.

As I have said before my brother lives in Thailand where they blame "felangs" that is foreigners for inflicting them with the virus. He lives in the north away from the popular tourist areas but tells me there is a curfew in place , everybody entering a supermarket has to have their temperature taken before they can enter.
One interesting thing now is that they make their own whisky which is drunk out of shot glasses and when he first went there it was the practice for everybody to use the same glass and pass it around. Now it seems everybody has their own glass which they carry around on a cord round their necks

What a lovely company to work for Amazon has terminated the contracts of two US employees who criticised working conditions inside its warehouses. The employees were fired for “repeatedly violating internal policies,” Amazon said. The Seattle based company has faced scrutiny after cases of Covid-19 were reported at more than 50 Amazon facilities across the US. Some have involved multiple infected workers. The Washington Post said the pair were both user experience designers. The two have been vocal in their support for warehouse staff and working conditions. They are also members of Amazon Employees for Climate Justice, a group that campaigns about the company's environmental impact. In a statement, Amazon said: “We support every employee’s right to criticise their employer’s working conditions, but that does not come with blanket immunity against any and all internal policies.” In France the company has been ordered only to deliver essentials amid questions it was failing to protect workers from coronavirus. bbc
