The Speedway European Championship will be staged in Poland next month as 15 riders battle it out for a guaranteed place in SGP 2021.
Danish star Mikkel Michelsen defends his continental title against the likes of world No.2 Leon Madsen, 2019 runner-up Grigory Laguta, triple world champion Nicki Pedersen, British racer Robert Lambert and former SGP stars Krzysztof Kasprzak, Michael Jepsen Jensen and Peter Ljung.
Former World Under-21 champion Bartosz Smektala, Andzejs Lebedevs, Vaclav Milik, Kacper Woryna, Andrei Kudriashov, Kai Huckenbeck and David Bellego complete the line-up.
With coronavirus restrictions across the continent forcing organisers to cancel some events, they have opted to stage the SEC series over five rounds on four different Polish tracks in July.
The series will start and finish in Torun on Saturday, July 4 and Wednesday, July 29 respectively with Wednesday rounds in Bydgoszcz (July 8), Gniezno (July 15) and Rybnik (July 22) in between.
Following winter changes announced by the SGP Commission, the winner of the SEC series will receive an automatic spot in next season’s SGP World Championship series.
