Birmingham:
22nd October 2010, http://www.speedwayg...p?extend.9440.3 Mole said: "My company has reluctantly decided against re-engaging Graham Drury as promoter and team manager on cost grounds."
22nd November 2010, http://www.speedwayg...p?extend.9591.2 BRUMMIES MOVING UP
King´s Lynn:
6th November 2010, http://www.speedwayg...p?extend.9533.3 Promoter Buster Chapman said: "Kevin insisted he needed a pay rise which equated to around a 30% increase over the whole season. He said it was because of his increasing costs but the club could simply not afford to meet that request, especially with such an unsteady economy and the fact I would like to see our admission prices remain the same for next season. "
29th November 2010, http://www.speedwayg...p?extend.9628.2 KING'S LYNN JOIN THE ELITE
What puzzles me the most about this, these two clubs are in the minority of PL clubs that have actually cried poverty on the BSPA´s own website. There must be some serious money on the table to bring these clubs in, so,
Where has the Money come from? Was this money on offer to other clubs such as Ipswich? What agreement do King´s Lynn and Birmingham have with the BSPA? If they want out at the end of this season coming, what would happen to the money?
Finally there is one other PL club crying poverty recently, BSPA´s own chairman, Alex Harkness. http://www.scotsman....ture.6595867.jp
Call me a businessman, as some of these promoters wish to be described, but claiming that the PL is full up, if they had Peterborough and Coventry in with them, not only would it strengthen the brand - Don´t take my word for it, take Harkness, "two clubs of such great stature" - he would also get decent travelling support, instead Mr Harkness opts for Plymouth, and says "no further applications will be considered". Another day in the bizarre business world of British Speedway.

It is vital these two Clubs make a huge success of 2011 in the Elite League then especially now we have been told that the Premier is full at 14 teams - there is no way back for them unless others can be persuaded to move up or drop out for 2012! Oh silly me I had forgot there is another AGM before then when all will change again!

Oh silly me I had forgot there is another AGM before then when all will change again! Frost made his decision that he does not want to compete in the EL because it costs to much. He reached his decision to late in the day to join the PL because that structure had been finalised it would seem. I would say though that the bspa and Frost could have found some compromise or common ground at this point and everyone would have saved face. But we don't know what Frost said or did or threatened when he left the AGM. The bottom line is our owner walked from the agm the consequences of which are therefore self inflicted. Those without the Frosty Rose Tinted glasses can see this. I have no doubt that Frost was stitched up but surely he should have been smart enough or cute enough to get back at them next time instead of picking up his ball and disappearing into the ether? He has ****ed up spectacularly.

As posted of the BSF from tonights KL fans forum
"Costs are rising in the PL whereas the costs for EL have been pretty stable for the past four or five seasons. When all the sponsorship money was added in, the cost to the club was not that much different when putting together a top class PL side.
Travelling costs to the Stars in the EL will be a third of what it was in the PL over the course of a season. "
Somebody hasnt done their maths homework methinks

Maths is not usually on the curriculum in Norfolk. It's how to marry your sister or brother.

If the move up to the EL doesn't work out, the Stars have the option to return to the PL at the end of the season for the next two years with no penalty and no questions asked. This to me was really important. Whatever happens, we will have a club :approve:
Plenty of options for team building but seems to be waiting for one particular rider to make his mind up. Once we know what he is doing, the rest will slot in accordingly.
Planning to sign 9 riders, including double uppers for the EL "squad"
Plenty of riders have phoned up offering their services and they're not there to make up the numbers and be EL whipping boys. Not saying they will win it, but they will be competitive.
Nicki Pedersen phoned up and offered his services and insisted the Stars would of been able to afford him as he loves riding at Lynn so much. Basically the only EL team he would consider racing for. He was only ruled out because of 10+ average would of been too high to build a solid team.
Possibly looking at moving racenight to a Friday as it's better for families.
Buster lost faith in speedway and did consider selling the club last season as he'd had enough.

The Stars weren't offered any incentive other than a share of the TV revenues to make the step up.
The Stars will have teamsuits next year and will be using the Aussie style "solid" air fence, not the type that requires inflation all the time.
By going to EL it allows them to hold more events at the stadium that they wouldn't of been able to do with a packed PL schedule. They hinted at some exciting event around SWC time but didn't really give many clues away.
Schrammy is not confirmed in a doubling up role just yet. All depends on what happens at the top end of the team.
TT is looking to ride PL and possibly double up with the Stars. Would of been the first signing in the PL. Away on holiday and they will chat on his return.
Double uppers can be anywhere in the team. Olly Allen is a strong contender for a team place but it depends if he is full time EL or riding in PL and doubling up on what average he would come in on.
I'm sure more will pop into my head in a bit. For me it was a good night and for me, the most positive fans forum for a couple of seasons. It was the most excited I'd seen Buster talk about speedway for a good while.

"I hope it was a bit more than that, If Kings Lynn got the same as Birmingham" from bsf! Your clutching at straws. Rodders is bitter and rightly so but he is venting his spleen in the wrong place King's Lynn are not at fault the fault is much closer to home.

The only smell you will get from Norfolk in the coming weeks will be the sugar beet.

From memory that's a sweet sickly smell when actually the whole situation is more akin to the smell from muck spreading!
