KL have sacked Craig Cook speculation rife over reasons and replacement

KING’S Lynn have sensationally axed No.1 rider Craig Cook after Thursday’s home hammering by Wolverhampton.
Cook scored two points in the Stars’ 32-58 defeat which was their worst result on their own circuit for almost exactly 19 years.
The club management said: “There is no fallout with Craig and we sincerely wish him all the very best for the season ahead.
“We want Craig to go away and become the Craig we know he can be. He’s a great rider, but sometimes you have to make decisions which you feel are right for the club and for the rider.
“We will be finalising his replacement overnight and updating supporters accordingly.”

Read several times they actually sacked him before the meeting. Yet statement says “there is no falling out with Craig”. So they dropped him after one meeting, winning his last three races after a nervous start.
Something definitely not right and Craig isn’t usually shy of making his own comments. Understand he does suffer with mental health problems. He did state his anxiety was really bad before his first race after 18 months off the bike.

Strange. I wouldn't have either of them (and didn't Frost get rid of Cook saying that he'd never ride for Panthers again (well under him anyway) - that was according to Champs2006 I seem to recall - so that would indicate if true that he has issues?) but I don't see Lawson in any way a replacement and the explanation given is very suspect, but who knows?

As I think we all knew, this is not an amicable parting. Cook is very head strong and often shouts loud without engaging brain, even if he is correct people are not prepared to listen to anger. Lawson is not as good as a focussed Cook, appears his temper tantrums carry no weight with Buster...out you go!!!
