Hi I cannot believe the BSPA allowed them to drop to the champs league, pleading poverty I believe the team they have will walk that league, then they bring in a wizz kidd from abroad, no other team could afford to do that as most are struggling with finances, typical Poole win win at all costs, ( Medzinsky 4 ave for a month leaves at an 8 ave), not sure if that was when Hancock brought in, make my blood boil, the champs league has always been competitive, if they are allowed to stay in it next year would be a travesty Jim

Hi I cannot believe the BSPA allowed them to drop to the champs league, pleading poverty I believe the team they have will walk that league, then they bring in a wizz kidd from abroad, no other team could afford to do that as most are struggling with finances, typical Poole win win at all costs, ( Medzinsky 4 ave for a month leaves at an 8 ave), not sure if that was when Hancock brought in, make my blood boil, the champs league has always been competitive, if they are allowed to stay in it next year would be a travesty Jim I think one of the main reasons Jim was they insisted on riding on Wednesdays and Prem nights were Monday and Thursday, pretty sure they suffered badly crowd-wise when running home meetings other than Wednesdays. I also heard they lost money during the last few years and Matt suddenly found himself in the same situation as every other promoter. (He didn’t like it). Ford made a life’s work out of bringing in ringers on completely false starting averages which of course won him many titles. He is still pulling the strings despite letting his son Danny front the club. It’s clear that the landlords are causing them some problems as well and like a lot of others are charging them a higher rent than they really want to pay. I will be surprised if Poole return to the Premiership now that Matt runs his chateau hotel business in France.

That is clearer now Dick thanks, it annoys me for all the hard work put in by the clubs and they will win nothing. Jim

Not sure what your point is. Any club can apply for either leagues. As long as they fall within the team building criteria what can you do. Any other team could have done the same. Couldn’t they?

My point is that Poole can and always have, afforded to bring in riders from abroad at a cost and most clubs in the champs league, have limited funds to build a team, let alone paying riders that ride in abroad Jim

Brian Crutcher my favourite rider of all time originated from Poole so that despite the dark arts from Matt Ford have always had a soft spot for them. Crutcher retired at a young age but was in his era on a par with Fundin, Craven, Moore and Briggs.
