Today out of the blue I had delivered an I phone 13 Pro from O2. I did not order it although it was addressed to me. Great difficulty contacting O2 who seemed not to take things seriously and said their fraud department would be in touch within 10 days. Demanded to be assured that I had not been charged for this item but only suggested I contacted my bank. Have done so , have not been charged and warned them that any charge or DD beyond a certain limit woulds be a scam. I await the outcome. RRP of this phone seems to be iro £1400

Keep getting ‘daily’ calls on my land line trying to encourage me to enrol on the government scheme for loft insulation. You just can’t trust anyone on incoming calls and question how they got my number. Regarding the delivery of your iPhone. Can’t work out the scam yet but surely must be one. No one gives such an item for free. Maybe it’s part of the three amigo’s predicted ‘great reset’. However, if you don’t want it, I’ll take it off your hands - I’m ready for an upgrade

Can't say I've had anything like that. This is the one time when Facebook/Meta or whatever it's called this week can be very helpful in today's world of non customer service. No company likes being told that they shite (although not quite in those terms) on the www.
I can't see that it's a mistake. Nobody sends one of those out without good reason. You must appear on a database somewhere.

I still have this phone, after several on line chats they sent me a jiffy bag with no references to return it to an electronics firm in Norwich. Was far from happy and have written twice and e mailed three times with no response.

I'd send it back registered (yes I know that you'll be out of pocket but it gets rid of the phone), keep all the evidence that you have and confirm what you've one by e-mail/phone and keeping copies. All a bit messy but end of problem & you've covered your back.

No one gives anything away (especially of this value) for free. It appears the fraud can start if you put your own SIM card in the phone. I must add that is my assumption. If I were you, I would take the phone and O2 paperwork into an O2 shop for advice. Call centres are long waits without answers. Appreciate these shops are mainly franchises but would expect they have had many similar discussions.
