Officially became economically inactive today: Next stop surviving to collect state pension several years into the future. Best of luck and good wishes Riggers!! Retirement forced upon me by Covid and the idiot who thought up the scheme that you should buy a Lamborghini with your Pension. Lot of good things about retirement but I have to admit there a lot of things I miss.

Surely you have another personal pension, hopefully not only NEST enforced. OCM Wealth Management def worth a call if you have a transfer value. Happy retirement

Yes I have another pension etc. Just want to get back some of what I've put in to the system. Thankfully I don't have to wait or live on it.

I don't know anyone who transferred out, in fact I didn't know that anyone could? Think that there was a bit of confusion during some pension changes at one point but don't think that it affected too many to act on bad advice. I'll just miss the daily routine and casual office conversations. The work and working environment were both becoming issues that forced my hand really and made the decision for me. I think more people than I've ever known have made that decision in the last 18 months. I've never known anything like the amount of e-mails regarding leavers and video calls saying goodbye to those staff. Once I adjust I'm sure that I'll be fine. I was due to break for Christmas to New Year from Friday anyway so it's just like my holiday but I'll not be returning in the new year which is always a bind and no fun anyway.

In the days when they had to retire at 60. They have lived a very comfortable life since. I have had a pension with Caterpillar from day 1. The Cat pension is a good one. Many long term employees transferred to OCM and were able to retire much earlier than if they stayed with Cat. Of course nothing is completely risk free but they seem to be doing well enough. Even through Trump and The Plague.
